Only 3 favourites and the day's big bucks horses flopped. Getabird and Apples Jade were bankers. Plenty of people will have had thousands on those horses. The other races were much tighter. Buveur D'Air is the only horse that really hurt the bookies today.
The big race of the day was won by the favourite ffs, and 3 out of 5 have come in, if you think that’s a bookies bonanza then you haven’t got a scooby
I'm not suggesting they'll be jumping for joy, merely they've not had the shocker you think. Getabird and Apples Jade were dead certs and both flopped. One of the favourites winning was 5/1 ffs. If Getabird, Apples Jade and Buveur D'Air all won then you could suggest the bookies got rinsed. As it happens, with another outsider winning just now, I'd call it even - perhaps with the bookies edging the punters. The bookies have had a much better day than they'd have anticipated.
