And that's before you take the stadium naming rights into account, which stand to be a hefty sum.

Apparently they're holding a meeting this evening to discuss.

I think a season ticket holder of 10 years might feel aggrieved that they have no more priority than a season ticket holder of 2 years.

Don't they? It says that the priority goes to those with the most consecutive years of season ticket ownership.
I've only browsed it so far, so I'm probably missing something.

I have just seen the video of kane and lloris in the tunnel and walking out to the pitch level and the view you get of inside the stadium WOW looks stunning.harry comments how he can't wait to score at the new lane and celebrate with us fans well that's fecked off all the hacks who said he's leaving.
I Don't care what the new ground will be called it'll always be the lane to me.

  8. If we as Spurs fans agree that 'The Lane' is a totally acceptable abbreviation of our old home, then maybe that could be incorporated into the new sponsored name?

'The FedEx Lane' for example would be the official title, but all fans would still refer to it as The Lane.

Mind you, maybe we should look at a sponsor from high street fashion and become the 'New Look White Hart Lane' <laugh>

I know things move on and time changes a lot of things but I can't think of calling our new stadium anything else but the lane maybe I'm showing my age here but I'm sure I'm not alone amongst our fans of a similar age to me.Having witnessed some great games over the last 50 years and the memories I have I just can't call it anything else.

I remember when the Emirates was being built I was really hoping they would call it the DUREX stadium because it was full of pr*cks <laugh>

except we've said for a long time that we can't compete with the likes of Utd or Arsenal because of the capacity of WHL. Surely that only means something if the club maximises it's revenue at the bigger stadium. I know naming rights and NFL are new revenue streams, but match day revenue on the lines of Arsenal and Utd are what we need to compete on transfers and wages, surely? That said I couldn't actually read the prices on that blue background, so I hope they've pitched them right in terms of filling the ground.

It will always be "the Lane" to supporters.
What marketing blurb, sponsors, match commentators
    say etc is irrelevant.

  15. Not entirely. The branding of the club is inextricably linked to the future growth and sustainability.
Surely it would be better to accept that and retain some connection to the old ground?

If you look at the other new grounds around, none have successfully kept their ground identity. Certainly not the Goons, Citeh, Soton or Leicester as examples.

To formally incorporate 'Lane' in there somewhere would surely be a bridge to the history?

"The X stadium, WHL" is no big deal for all parties.

The old stadium became named due to a nearby major
road than runs thru the Tottenham area. As I said the
other day, the new stadium is now a good 50m closer to
that road then the old stadium was.

X won't agree. They will know the WHL bit is what will stick with us.

X may not have naming rights forever.
WHL (the road, the ground) will be though.

I agree. It will always be "The Lane" to me whatever they call it. However as a formal name, the company paying the big bucks will insist that nothing interferes with their brand.

  20. I read somewhere that DL is looking at a £400m naming rights deal over 20 years. Not forever but a significant period.
