I 100% agree with you on all counts, but simply in the interests of accuracy and responding to the headlines in some outlets, he patently doesn't spit AT the daughter: I would hope anyone who did that would be prosecuted in a criminal court.
The whole science of spitting between two moving cars just hasn't been thought about at all. Again, footballers are not very bright, are they?
Light hearted and in good humour? That would depend on your definition of a WUM. In my book the WUM is a knob of the highest order. Filmed Carragher as he was dishing out ****e, showed no concern for his daughter and then sold his story to the highest bidder. Scum in my book.
Exactly what I was saying to you last night; zero logic applied, clearly not a thought out act, its a in the moment reaction.
I'm not an expert at spitting, but I did once read about deflection shooting in WWII. You have to really shoot ahead of your target, so Carra should have spit forward by about 45degrees to his right travelling @ 30mph and that would have brought it back to, well on to the windscreen. Or probably right in the girl's face, on second thoughts...
Sorry, don't agree. I don't know what went on before the clip and obviously, the guys filming it while driving but based on the little on the tape, he has no excuse and he knows it.
That's no problem. People will have totally differing opinions on this, but there are two sides to every story and more attention needs to be paid to the actions and motives of the person who actually caused the problem in the first place, the WUM father.
There is nothing he can do. Apologies won’t do anything. It is the sheer scale of his overreaction that upsets me. It is not as if he was being sworn at and called b this or c that. He was being goaded with simple: “ Jamie 2-1. 2-1 “ several times. So what? How many times fans have called players much worse than that. He is a 40 year old man, who spits towards a man and girl. He himself said he had no excuses. I don’t think he’ll recover from this. Sky won’t employ someone who is so damaged. What happens if there is a spitting incident on the pitch? Does he now call for a milder punishment instead of a 6 match ban?
I'll agree its pretty disgusting and I'm not sure if he'll ever be able to do punditry again, but mostly I'm not that bothered. He's an ex-player who has only damaged his own reputation and not the clubs. Also on a side note, the guy was driving whilst using a mobile phone, erm.. that's illegal.
