Nope. What was said was light hearted and in good humour. No way (from what I've seen) can you put any blame on the family. Even if the driver was alone, his actions are inexcusable for what was a little banter. Really feel sorry for the poor girl who was gobbed on. Disgusted.
That Sky interview was pretty over the top...same questions repeated and repeated for 15mins, you'd think he'd have got out the car and beaten the girl up with a baseball bat or something! What would your kids think, what would you do if your kids did it, I've got kids and I'd be upset, what about all the kids watching? etc, on and on It was disgusting and he'll be punished, but it felt like watching a court hearing from a murder!
Agree with all of that, especially over the girl, but I still don't think he's spitting AT her. Small comfort though - a ****ing vile thing to do. Btw, I'm sure that's an inside of an Astra like mine. Just thought I'd add that.
"Man admits football-based abuse is worth endangering his daughter's life" would be the #neutral headline that didn't put celebrity scandal first
Well it hit her. He had the spread all wrong, he was never going hit the target.....I’d call that a Tony Hibbert of gobs.
Carragher was never known for being on target with his shots. That wasn't his specialty. He's a defender not an attacker.
I think we are nit picking: gobbing at the kid or not. The whole business of spitting because a fan says “2-1 2-1 ...” should not be provocation for him to spit. Ridiculous example to give to anyone especially to members of his own family. How would his own teenage view a Dad that spits at the slightest provocation? I am really disappointed with him as I have held him in high regard as a player and as pundit.
You chip away at a mountain using kids beach toys... Eventually you have a valley. No excuse for what Carragher did, but even light hearted banter if carried on long enough will wear him thin. Not that that is an excuse to spit... Just saying that is probably what made him make a big deal over nothing. I remember as a kid I hated the "Don't worry, be happy song" (strangely, I quite like it as an adult). My siblings would always sing it around me to wind me up. Once or twice would have been merely mildly irritating... But over and over again got me very angry and seeing red. Relatively mild... But it builds up. Carragher should have more restraint than a 6 year old kid though.
Brilliant pundit, caught on an off day. He needs a slap for being a dick but hope he is back on TV soon.
Alan Shearer thought Carra was filmed dropping the n-bomb but after several replays changed his opinion to spitting
considering the abuse he received as a player i'm amazed and shocked tbh at his reaction. Why i'm ever surprised by footballers behaviour these days is another story. Personally i'd never do that if only with my luck there would be a gust of wind which provided perfect justice and blew it back in my face.
Genuinely think they went that rough on him because they aren't firing him. He s towed the line there .... not saying his apology wasn't genuine just that he will obvio8sly do what sky tell him to do to keep his job.. who wouldn't?
if the film is a complete version it seemed a massive over reaction though . I know people who would have chased anyone who spat at them for miles and then battered them when they caught them.
