macca for me too - great player and very badly treated when he came back to joing the coaching staff. There should have been a place for him somewhere at the club - most others seem to manage it.
The fact that Waster Waddock brought him back didn't help. When Waddo finally got the chop, Macca was for the door as well.
we should have treated him like Frank Sibley - he always managed to keep a post at the club despite managers coming and going .. if Macca had been able to do that he would have been catertaker manager about 12 times by now!!
Clement & Gillard were a perfect defensive partnership, excellent players. Alan McDonald was special, & QPR through & through. I always liked Don Shanks, Stan's partner in crime!
Oh well, no one mentioned him, but my choice was Glenn Roeder, closely followed by Terry Fenwick. I loved the leadership and the way he brought the ball from defence to attack with a few one-twos & the trademark 'Roeder shuffle.' Terry Fenwick was as tough as they came and could play anywhere across the back four. Thanks to all those that contributed, some great names re-called, that brought back fond memories.
I would say Dave Clement ( God rest his soul ) and Alan Macdonald seem to be the most popular choices.
