Good Morning Everyone It looks like Liam Cooper's injury was worse then first thought. I would expect to see him again this season. "Liam`s badly swollen and there was lots of bleeding," Heckingbottom told the Yorkshire Evening Post. "Time will tell but with the size of it and his lack of mobility at the minute, I can`t see him training for a while." Pontus Jansson has told the Yorkshire Evening Post that he feels 'ashamed' of the club's current form. “At the moment I feel ashamed,” said Jansson. “In 2018 we have one win and I am born to be a winner and win games. That’s what I live for, that’s why I play football, because I want to win games and we have one win in 2018 so I feel bad. It’s difficult to put words on it. I came to the club last year and I had a good season and this season has also been good, but now we have won once in 10 or 15 games and that’s not good enough.” Victor Orta has been getting “death threats” from Leeds United fans, according to celebrity fan Simon Rix. The Kaiser Chiefs bassist, who is a lifelong supporter of the club, hit out at those who have resorted to extreme measures to direct their unhappiness at the United director of football. In a couple of Twitter messages posted in the aftermath of Saturday’s 2-2 Championship draw against Reading, Rix pointed out that recruitment specialist Orta is not responsible for the many poor signings made by Leeds in recent seasons. Rix sarcastically condemned those responsible with a “keep it classy” jibe. Simon Kaiser ✔@curlywand This Victor Orta scapegoat narrative has to stop. Did he sign Doukara, did he sign Diagouraga, Did he sign Wootton, Bellusci, Botaka, Erwin, Matt ****ing Grimes, Noel Hunt, Cani, Del Fabro, Montenegro? It’s not an exact science. He’s doing ok. #mot Simon Kaiser ✔@curlywand Plus he’s just a man with a family who’ve just moved into the area. And he’s getting death threats. Nice. Keep it classy. #mot
Peeps, I'm coming down to Leeds on Friday for the weekend (though apparently, I'm staying in Belgium). Was thinking of organising a night out, Restaurant and a couple of beers. If we book somewhere like Cosmo , everyone will be happy with the selection. Who's free on Friday night?
Mornin Elland and all. Pontus is spot on, it’s difficult to find the words. The death threats is going miles too far and reveals a definite scumbag element all clubs are stuck with
Morning all, death threats are not acceptable. at first we didn’t know if Ortas signings were good enough or if TC was to blame. In steps PH and it seems to have got worse and from what I’ve seen the majority of the signings are simply not good enough. If Orta had been selecting his team from the start of the season he would have been sacked, instead TC was the scapegoat. What Rads and the board are saying is this team are good enough for top 6 and they are not being coached correctly so it will be interesting to see what happens at the end of the season. If the board still believe we should have been top 6 does PH get the chop, if reality sinks in that we’re an average midtable team does Rads feel Orta has wasted his money and where do we move forward?
Moving forward will be excruciatingly difficult next season with all your long term contracts of players whos form are going backwards and not forwards. No one will want them I'm sure, so a case of adding more dross to the dross you already have
Good Morning to Matt and co from a very wet Bardsey I have had 5 male yellow hammers and 2 female this weekend in the garden never seen one before plus 2 gold finch I hope they nest in my trees We can say that Orta is responsible for the signings and only 2 have been good enough in my opinion Saiz and Alioski The question we should ask is has he been told that the players have to come cheap and so the market then becomes a gamble Unfortunately the gamble has not paid off and we are saddled with a lot of dross The way round this is for Orta to ask PH what he wants to get into the top 6than go to AR and tell him we need x million for a goalkeeper a CB a LB A WINGER A STRIKER AND A MIDFIELD player How you move on the likes ofO' Kane Le Bok Cooper Sacko Felix Lonegren etc maybe you have to swap them
From your silence on the matter I guess you aren't but are you joining us on Saturday. If wj is away I thought you might have his season ticket? You will be more than welcome.
Good morning Ell I can understand how Pontus feels because I also have a winning mentality in the sport I play even though I'm old sod. Unfortunately we'll probably lose him come the end of the season I'm not a fan of Captain Chaos but I wouldn't wish a bad injury on any footballer, hope he makes a quick recovery Radz/Orta are the main reason for our demise but how anyone could issue death threats on Orta is totally beyond my comprehension
Morning... I will pass on Friday night. My journey back would only be slightly easier than yours! The main event is Saturday and you need to decide at what point you are joining us.
From the 'Who Would You Keep 1,2 & 3' posts it looks like fans are saying 16 players need moving on. Early days with the polling but obviously fans are peed off if 16 of the first team squad are not good enough. Just maybe its the manager thats not good enough because I hate to say it but we are the same if not worse since PH arrived. LDB has vanished and is a shadow of the player who arrived. Phillips and O'Kane also really bad, we cant defend to save our lives even with a player like Pontus. Pennington does 90% good stuff compared to Cooper who does 75% good stuff but Cooper gets to play ahead of Pennington. Glad Cooper is out because Pennington will play and we should see one of our 7 U23 CBs now. Players who fans want out so far: Lonners Felix O'Kane Dallas Phillips Sacko Gomes Roofe Grot Cibicki Ekuban Cooper Anita LDB Berardi Nessy
Its very kind of you to ask but at the moment are am going in for an op today on my throat they have found a growth Moe has been diagnosed with pneumonia in both her lungs so we aren't up to speed as it were So I will not be using WJ ticket I'm afraid
I too felt the wording of that statement from Pontus was an early warning sign that this team isn’t good enough for him and he might be engineering a move away. I then thought “nah it’s just me” but sadly maybe it’s not.
We are both very positive people so onwards and upwards I will report hopefully tomorrow I am due in at 3.30
He has ambition and if the board can’t match that ambition then no I don’t blame him. Saiz will be another, it seems when a decent player comes in you have two seasons to be at least challenging or they are off. After finishing 7th last season if anyone had have told us how much Rads was going to spend on players between the end of last season and end of January we’d have all been assuming autos, we weren’t that far off a decent team so to spend the amount Rads has and be worse positioned is criminal
good players become better players when they play with other good players,They drop when they play with poor players and Pontus is the perfect example of this, Last season he was outstanding because he had a Bartley, Anybody saying you are 2 or 3 quality players short for next season need to seriously re think
