Not really city news, but just seen that Ayala is out with a knee injury for two months already. Unlucky for him and Norwich
This is no surprise. Did anyone else notice that Ayala has not looked the same since he left City ? There is something dodgy about that knee of his ? Shame but maybe it has done City a favour. Can you immage if we had signed him and then this problem ? Fans would have been going crazy with NP and the medical team. After Bullard, due dilligence on all new signings.
Very true, and (unlike he who shall not be named) they can also make a full recovery. Van Nistelhorse's knee exploded on his first medical with Man Ure, but he didn't do bad for them when he did sign
yes very true. but that was almost 2 years later on. knees take time to heal and regain there strength. football clubs dont give players that time needed. i just feel that Ayala's knee is not as strong as it was. time is the best healer and only if he is given it.
DANIEL AYALA OUT FOR CANARIES Norwich defender Daniel Ayala has been ruled out for two months with a knee injury. The 20-year-old Spaniard, who joined the Barclays Premier League newcomers earlier this month from Liverpool, suffered the injury during the Canaries' 4-0 midweek Carling Cup humbling at home to MK Dons. The club confirmed the news on their official Twitter feed this morning, posting ahead of tomorrow's game at Chelsea: "Injury blow - Daniel Ayala out for a couple of months with knee injury, Wes Hoolahan being monitored." Ayala became manager Paul Lambert's eighth summer addition 10 days ago when he arrived from Liverpool for an undisclosed fee on a four-year contract, bolstering a squad which secured successive promotions from npower League One to the Barclays Premier League. He had joined the Reds from Sevilla in 2007, but found his first-team opportunities limited at Anfield, and last season spent loan spells in the Championship at both Hull and Derby. Ayala made his debut in last weekend's 1-1 Premier League draw against Stoke at Carrow Road, coming on for Anthony Pilkington midway through the second half. His absence will come as a blow to Lambert, who rates the player highly. Speaking to BBC Radio Norfolk earlier this month, he said: "I just think you've got to have a lot of cover throughout the coming games and a long hard season. "He's a young player and obviously played against us for Hull and Derby and I thought he was strong and aerial as well. He was somebody we thought could benefit the football club." Lambert confirmed Ayala was facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines. The Norwich manager said: "Dani is going to be out for a few months, which is a blow. "But that is football. Whoever plays I'm sure in that position will do their best. "Hopefully Elliott Ward is not too far away from being fit." Hoolahan will face a late fitness test on his hamstring problem. Lambert added: "We will have to wait and see this morning and how he is feeling. If he is feeling okay then we will see."
sad to see a player injured, but in someways glad we didn't have him as it would have been our luck he got injured and was out for 6 months not 2
