Your post suggested that doing something to a fan is worse than doing something to a player?

One thing is certain now: whenever a player spits at another, Carragher will not say like so many pundits ( like Shearer/Redknapp/ Neville/ Murphy et al) say: “ This is the most unacceptable thing that a player can do on a pitch. Players will accept any type of tackles, rough physical contacts etc, but having someone spitting at you is the lowest of the low”

I am personally surprised that carragher reacted that way and spat at these people. He should be above that.

No. See the above answer re spitting. Don't know where I have said it is: but it's dealt with under the FA's pre-agreed code of conduct. If Roy Keane had deliberately kicked a fan in the street like he did to Haaland (sp) would you expect him to just be banned from the workplace for a few weeks?

But we wouldn't be because the 'Dad' wouldn't release the footage knowing he'll get into trouble himself. Bit of money in it for here though isn't there?

(I know that isn't the point but the actual topic is boring me now)

Z .... you've honed in on my moral comment...

Go read it back... as well as all my other posts on the subject.

Morally.. .. what he did is disgusting... you've accepted that. .he s accepted that....

It's assault...technically.... did he beat someone to death? No.

But I'm finding your position confusing .... side stepping aside it seems your only issue is you believe it's not a sackable offence because it was committed outside of work.

I'd agree with most jobs but his is all about being seen.

Again.... personally? He's not with the club so whether he gets sacked or not isn't my concern.

But sidestepping and strawman arguments sounds like defending him.

Are we all agreed. It was a disgusting act that we all dislike because of his association with our club.

Because of it I want him no where near us for at least the near future.

It's worse to spit at a fan than it is to spit at another player on the pitch, yes. That doesn't mean I am for one moment suggesting that makes either scenario is 'okay'.

I picked up on your use of the word moral but don't think I'm targeting you personally, I'm not.

My comments regarding morals were more that morals in football don't exist.

TBF Zang has not said he shouldn't be sacked, he brought the moral element in by asking if the same people demanding the sack had the same moral outrage when Suarez bit someone.
All he is looking for is a balanced reaction.

Which is a fair comment. They don't.

Nor do they in tv generally.

I don't care about his job tbh .... they'll keep him or not...

Just don't want him to be associated with our club.....

I don't think he is being associated to us. The only people that will do that is football fans.

I don't watch our listen to pundits so I'm not bothered either way but I do think there is a massive over reaction here. If it had hairnets in the street where he had clearly had time to think first it would be different. He did something in the heat of the moment with zero time for a thought process.

Sounds like something out of a gangsters book doesn't it? "We only ever hurt other bad guys, we hardly ever touched innocent people"

In that case his instincts are those of a thug or hooligan. My immediate reaction to provocation has never been to spit. Never even enters my head!

I did say I don't think he should be sacked but not based on the moral comparisons (two or three conversations going off at once so easy to get cross wires)
