That went through my mind last night, but I couldn’t bring myself to post it. I felt dirty, but desperation calls.... Give him an 8 game contract. His ego in that short term may just trigger something.
An inanimate carbon rod could do a better job than Pellegrino. We have to cast the dice. Passion is what we need right now and SKD has it in spades. Fans would get right behind him and the team too. I think it's a no brainer if we don't have a replacement lined up.
Whilst I’d say kelv has the passion, for me, I’d have as part of the new set up.. once MoPel is gone, I’d get Silva in asap.....
to be a manager do you need to pass the coaching badges first ? or can some unqualified muppet like we have at the moment just walk into the job?
I suspect Silva is one of the few out of work managers (with English football experience, but outside of that real elite group) who would reject the job regardless of how much money we could throw his way. Without a transfer window to work with, or even a decent length of time to get his ideas across etc, I'd suggest there'd be too big a risk now of him ending up with successive relegation on his CV. I'm not saying that either would be his fault, but ultimately he would have been the one in the dugout on both occasions. For the good of his career - which still has a long way to good - I'd suggest he's better off giving this one a miss, if we were to come calling. (Whereas back in January, after Watford sacked him, I think we could have got him.) The summer could be a totally different story of course. Although Everton might be decide to reignite their interest. (Possibly not though, I get the impression that their owner just fancies whoever is the current flavour of the month. He's probably trying to get hold of Hughton or Carvahal).
Just for the record, I’m happy to do the Wigan match thread if people want it and no one has claimed it?
I'm not saying that 70%-30% is a close vote, but I did think the gap would be wider. To my mind, Kelvin is the only real option to be a caretaker manager. So my interpretation of the question TLL has posed isn't so much "Do you want our ex-goalkeeper Kelvin Davis, with absolutely no managerial experience, taking charge of the team for our next match?" but rather "Do you want MP gone as manager, even if it won't mean a replacement coming in until next week at the earliest?". And I thought the answer to that would be more than 70%.
