Oh moan all you like! It’s the sheer “check in your brains” anger of some of the posts which leave me bemused. There are people starving, being bombed and dying of preventable diseases. Rage about losing a footy game? Talk about First world problems!
That's daft. There will always be drama in the world, is that a reason that we should just not complain about our little football gripes?
I placed a tenner at 16/1 in anger after the Burnley defeat in November(?), was being offered 34 quid before the weekend, not offering anything at the moment presumably because the round of fixtures aren't complete. I'll cash out when it hits a nifty just in time before we start our great escape Whilst I agree it's obviously not helpful, having a rant on a forum is hardly going to do any harm either is it? I understand people getting annoyed with constant negativity but I don’t think it's really an issue people making comments in the heat of the moment. Everyone is different and some people use places such as this to vent... We all want the same thing at the end of the day - it's only because people care and there's not exactly a lot to be positive about at the moment.
It's fine to complain or moan just as it's fine to be positive and trying to see good whenever possible. Channon is saying that's it's about putting everything into perspective.
I liked this post and agree with the general sentiment but being the confrontational little bugger who likes to play devils advocate that I am I'd just point out that you could argue that we're worse off due to having a game less now to achieve the points required I've decided anyway we're gonna win the cup and go down to provide mixed emotions in some supporters
Apart from WBA who i think are most certainly relegated now the other two places are still up for grabs and i reckon with so many contenders it will go to the last day for it to be decided......My preference is West ham and Stoke but we are all still dangerously in the mix....
Stoke the biggest game of the season? Can't agree with that... Sunday is our biggest game of the season for me I get your point though and they'd better turn up fighting and up for it, you can rest assured that Wigan will and we'll almost certainly get turned over otherwise. See my next post too, if we don't turn up next week and show some heart then I can see it getting very nasty in the away end.
I still think we will go down to be honest, but all is not yet lost. If we got rid of our manager I would 100% think we will stay up. And there would be no media backlash if we sacked him.
Bizarrely, it's got me thinking. We did beat West Ham and Everton. And drew Swansea, Bmouth and Arsenal. That's nine points. Add nine points to our current total, and that's borderline safety (although I suspect 37 won't quite be enough - if one of Palace and Stoke pick up some form, then potentially we're looking at 40 points). Not that it means anything. Particularly given eight of those nine points were picked up at home (where apparently we need to get away from playing...). My mind is just drifting.
I'd forgotten when I wrote this that there's an international break after next weekend. So it's not quite as above. But the general sentiment still remains. I'm not sure why what we do against Wigan should impact on whether we keep him. And in any event, three weeks is even better than two weeks - especially given that we'd be losing some players to international duty, so a new manager couldn't work with them anyway.
63% possession and only 2.shots on target WTF! Newcastle had 37% and 5 shots with 3 goals! Make no mistake about it, we are going down with a whimper. Cariilo substituted rather than flooding the attack. Is this the definition of asset stripping from the board. QF on sunday and I can't be bothered to go so how sad is that.
Well it's sad for you. Just make sure you give your ticket to someone else, and it's happy days for them.
This result may be my luck rubbing off on the team. Have had an absolutely crap day so result is no surprise to me. Sorry everyone.
I don't buy that if we lose to West Ham then we're gone... Yes it makes things more difficult but you get weird results towards the end of the season. I've said for a while that I feel we'll need to beat a top 6 side to stay up... We're not gone at all and it's a bit silly to say it imo unless we're 6 or 7 points adrift. Like I say results get strange towards the end of the year and I think Leicester is one of our best fixtures left. We might even pick up a win at Goodison ffs You only need to look at our red and white friends from the north east to see that it's not over until it's over. One year they won 3-0 at Stamford Bridge which was the first time Mourinho had ever lost a home league game in England in like 50+ games or something stupid. I still think 3 wins will be enough if you assume we'll draw at least one. For me those 3 wins are most likely to come from: West Ham Swansea Bournemouth Leicester Everton Chelsea/Arsenal So I think it's still a tad premature to say we're gone if we lose/fail to win next week.
