Another song always on juke boxes at that time, and at fairgrounds, was Runaway. Runaway and It's My Party by Lesley Gore always make me think of fairs.

Yes. First record which really got me into pop music.
Used to wander through the amusements when thst was on loking forward to being able to look andvdress like all the Teds with leather jackets on and with greasy hair and sideburns, mainly because my dad o.wuld be annoyed. Of course by the time I got old enough that was the last thing I wanted to look like. Things changed almost overnight in the eatly 1960s.

I would have thought my references in the past to seeing the Stones and Beatles in 1964 and other groups might have given it away.<laugh> Not to mention my avatar, that icon of 1960s hedonism.
My wife still asks what I want to be when I grow up.

I know. But lucky to have been old enough to enjoy the 1960s and all the changes that went on from 1963.

Saw them Cup Final day 1964. And about 6 weeks later - great week that, Stones Saturday, Little Richard the foĺowing Thursday (promoter Don Robinson). Great times for a 13 year old with a birthday between the Stones gigs. Good place to be a youngster in those days was .Brid. Saw the Beatles in the August of that year at Scarborough. Don't know what you are paying to see the Stones butmfirst time I saw them the cost as equivalent to three and a half pints of bitter. The Beatles 4 pints of bitter. Times have changed.<laugh>
