Too easy for Newcastle. No excitement, no purpose no urgency . We have gone down with much worse teams but you felt like they were giving it their all. Saints fans that attended today should be refunded.
We have much better plays then Newcastle have in almost every position. Just woeful mismanagement from all levels of the setup. Benitez would have us Top 10 for sure.
I genuinely have no idea. Why does anyone buy a football club? There have to be a hundred thousand better ways to invest £200 million.
Yeah, GAO could just by taking the money. It’s certainly a possibility. But tbf, I don’t know that I would have spent a ton on this squad either. Like you say, the money will be there if we go down. If he doesn’t pocket it, he can spend it on the team. I don’t know. I’m a big fan of just tearing it all up and rebuilding. But I think I am probably not a great judge as I am more used to following sports with salary caps and drafts so it is easier to pick yourself up from the bottom.
I've never got why more people didn't want him for us. Just because he's not in his 40s and plying his trade in Europe right now.
Yeah that is much easier said than done. If we do go down then everything will be about what Gao wants to do. We could very easily do a Sunderland if he doesn't want to invest as a lot of the players will leave because they won't want to play in the Champ.
That has to be the end of Pellegrino. Surely, there's no possible way that isn't the end of Pellegrino.
I don't think he bought it for that reason personally. I mean it is Southampton industrial wasteland, not exactly prime real estate That being said I have no idea why he did buy it if he is just going to sit back and let others run it, all seems a bit weird.
This is the end, beautiful friend This is the end, my only friend, the end Of our elaborate plans, the end Of everything that stands, the end No safety or surprise, the end I'll never look into your eyes, again
