Looks like Heckythump has given up. https://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co...res-heckingbottom-tells-his-players-1-9056587
Good morning lover full stop I wouldn't say that the gaffer has given up. I just think he is being a realist let's face it if he were to say that the playoffs were a realistic target imagine the stick he would get full stop it would be nice to finish in the top 10 it would be even nicer to find one or two hidden gems from our youth teams
Does anyone know why Viera has been in and out of the side all season? Is there an underlining injury or is he blowing hot and cold
Not sure but I saw an article (think in the YEP) about how long it takes all our coaches to realise he is one of the best midfielders at the club. That said he is a young player and they often have a dip in form. Need a win today if only so I can enjoy a weekend for once.
Understand what you're saying Ell, and it may well be a tactic, something we haven't really seen Heckythump be any good at, however, realistically, the fat lady ain't sung yet, and we should'nt be throwing in towel till it's impossible. Telling a team of players to forget the playoffs at this end of season can be suicidal, in that the players just give up; after all, if the coach's given up, why shouldn't we. The Mental and Psychological transference from the coach to the players, or individual players can either be inspiring and enthusiastic, or it can deflate players into giving up. Heckythump I reckon gave up last week on top 6 by experimenting with team, of all the teams to experiment against, he chose Wolves, and it came back to bite him big time on arse, as it did with TC and Monk. While ever there's a chance, you don't give up, you never give up. Teams above could go through bad patches, and/or they take points of each other. With some inspiring team talk, and not "give up talks" we could all of a sudden put 5 or 6 wins together back to back, but you never ever give up while there's a chance, because that chance just might be the chance to favour us. Seems to me Heckythump has given up on Le Bock, after one bad game, how many recent coaches have we had that's done the same thing with certain players, but continually played the likes of Phillips and O'Kane. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if Heckythump ain't the coach next season, unless God and Don give him a miracle.....
We need at least 6 players and a new manager , making excuses because we were playing wolves who were crap last season is not good enough
So PH has said forget the play-off's Good to see someone being realistic for a change. If a target is out of reach it's out of reach pipe dreaming at this stage of the season is no good to anyone, most of all the players, better to concentrate on something more achievable. Like individual performance. Having said that we could just sneak a win today, only saying that to make 2020 feel good, joking Onwards and upwards so they say. Oh and Good morning everyone
I would like an answer as to why Thomas was sacked, I asumed the board felt the players were good enough for top 6 so they brought PH in to save the season and turn it around. If the players are not good enough for top 6 then Rads needs to make a tough decision, admit DOF isn't working at this level and with the amount of cash he has available. Get shot of Orta and PH and bring in a proper manager who would spend the money wisely.
As there seems to be a lot of apologies going around this week I was wondering do we owe Tomas Christiansen one ? For much of the season he had us top 6 and playing some good football at times. Not many teams have been to Bristol City and won 0-3 so he must have doing some things right. His downfall seems to have stemmed from either not realizing or not being supported by Radz/Orta that we were clearly lacking in the height department defensively. This was clearly apparent after defeats at Millwall, Cardiff and Sheff Wed. This problem has been our achilles heel all season so why once the January window opened wasn't it addressed ? First we signed a left back who is actually very weak in the air. Then Ayling got injured further reducing our defensive ariel abilities and finally we made no attempt whatsoever to sign a commanding centre half to play alongside Pontus. Any coach or manager worth his salt would have identified this weakness and asked for reinforcements. So did TC ask and was ignored or was he such a yes man he didn't want to rock the boat ? On to today's game and I think we will win as Reading are a passing side similar to Brentford and this means our weaknesses are less exposed.
Picking up on the end of this... We have a coach who installs O'Kane as captain before dumping him and bringing him back in before dumping him a second time half way through a game. He picks Vieira and then we don't see him again. Alioski told he played great left midfield and got back defending well, its what the coach wants to see then Sacko jumps him in the queue. Forshaw takes time out for the birth of his baby, he is benched. Some of the selections are bewildering, some of the subtitutions are also head scratching. If we were winning and playing well you wouldn't question them but we're not, it's boring basic and predictable how PH has got us set up at the moment.
Totally agree with you Jammy, TC also hit a patch where suspensions were rife. Was Tommy the right man for the job? Probably not, is Tommy better than PH for sure in my opinion.
If you install a bottom 4 coach then surly you must expect bottom 4 results what else was you possibly expecting ? was a big step backwards IMO
Have been less than impressed by PH so far. Keeps telling the players they are playing for their futures...seems to me it's his future they are playing for and some of them don't seem to bothered. Big day for him today as can't keep blaming others.
But he's way better than your manager, destroyed you in the play off final, won the lower league cup, spanked you at the den this season. He has a 100% record against millwall in league games, spanked you every time.Ow I get it now, that's why you hate him,he made 20,000 wallies cry at Wembley
Having a nice pret latte outside Reading station while I watch the local police (all 5 of them, not counting horses) look around for those rough and tough northern leeds fans. ‘It’s too quiet I don’t like it’ one of them is saying, looking up at the deserted red sandstone buttes all around them. Suddenly an arrow took him cleanly between the shoulder blades ....., sorry I seem to mixing up my genres here
