I think ear pieces are magic. It's just a wire to a magnet, but music comes out. Get two of them, and there's music dancing round your head, or the noise of a dinosaur creeping up behind. Now with wireless ones, they pluck it all out of the air, so all those noises, like orchestras and animals must be all around us. <yikes>

Amazing innit ? There'll be some poor bastard alien on a distant planet in some remote solar system in a hitherto unknown galaxy to we mortal earthlings who've just picked up the sounds of Abba ! Poor buggers I say. They've probably figured out how to filter out Burnsey & Swannies commentaries of Hull City by now !

There was a programme a few years ago, that was on about the time it takes radio waves to travel through space, and he calculated how many years it'd be before our activities will be registered, and aliens will be using their advanced technology to tune in to I love Lucy.

It's not difficult to do the calculations.
Distances to stars are measured in light-years. One light-year is the distance that light travels in one year.
Radio waves travel at the same velocity as light.
It will take TV signals 50 years to travel to a solar system 50 light-years away.

So does it go faster or slower when it's a leap year?

Do these aliens pay for their TV licence ?
They probably use one of Patty's streams - the thieving scoundrels.

You know why radio waves travel the same speed as light ?
They are light ! Just not part of the visible spectrum to humans :emoticon-0138-think

Not quite. Visible light and radio waves are both part of the electromagnetic spectrum.

They do say concession is good for the soul. I'd add the quote 'suffer little children, to come unto me' but it always sounds a bit pervy...oh, and religion is banned.

    This was undemocratic.

A decision should have been put to the people via a poll which thread should remain.

Yet again dictator mod DMD takes it upon himself to do as he wishes. You're not fit to moderate.
