Excess fluid below the kneecap that was making it sore, and a sudden flare-up of pain would cause me to fall over if I didn't have something within reach to hold on to. The exercises I have to do are for strengthening the knee and as a result, reducing the fluid.

Once spent Christmas Day there, Yorkie. A lovely place, though that was 15 years ago now! A little restaurant offered us wine if we kept the bottle under the table. The fish market was great...choose your fish and have it cooked on the spot. Do they still advertise "democratic prices"? It's become a bit of a catch phrase with us.

  3. One of my favourite work trips was Agadir - went to a restaurant called Little Norway and the waiter spoke passable Gaelic to one of my colleagues from Donegal! Would really like to go to Morocco on holiday.

No chance of any admin support Lenny - he is one of the Lefty Clique and on top of that he is the go-to for IT support, so you have no chance. Notice how the great and good have skirted around this like you were a leper.

Morning all. Bright and breezy with the temperature in the shade 16°C which has opened the greenhouse vents already. I know that Spring is here when Gardeners World returns on a Friday evening. Poor old Monty Don was showing us how to prune with the snow flying around him and a covering on the ground. The joys of broadcasting! On such a day I stay firmly inside.

Morning all. Just so that you all know, (can't remember if i've already mentioned it!) but i've been having problems with my internet connection on my laptop (apparently if you have a windows 8 laptop and upgrade to windows 10, a few months in your HP laptop will decide it doesn't like it and will keep booting you off the internet with no way of getting back to windows 8!) Anyway, i digress. i also seem to be having problems signing in on my phone, all of which is very annoying! So, i'm here as often as i am able and thankfully M Frenchie is here too, far more than me :).

Just wanted to update you :)

Meanwhile, i'm feeling way too confident about tomorrow which probably we'll get our backsides smashed from here to kingdom come!

Have not noticed that Theo.. But I have noticed massive changes since I worked in Morocco 40+ years ago.. Medina reassuringly timeless though

To be fair Yorkie - I have talked to a few of you via email recently - including w_y - as my PC developed a sound fault and I just about killed the whole PC in trying to correct it. I lost all email contacts so have been trying to get them back. Only OFH to date seems not to have had time to respond.
w_y is correct though - I have pointed out that I cannot remain posting when one poster in particular targets me for abuse. He will not stop if I remain so I cannot be bothered to stay. If the mods adopted the policy of immediate deletion of posts that are just abuse the board would not have these sorts of arguments. When SH returns we all know what will happen - abuse and counter abuse. There is only one way to stop it - but that is not trying to stop debates. I proved on my return on a couple of threads that polite thoughtful but argumentative debate could take place - and it did. All I objected to was someone who mistakes posting videos of unimportant, unheard of, strangers as a valid alternative to debate and I hoped the new thread I had created would not follow that path into thoughtless media clips. Thankfully it did not.
Toby objects to that and so targets me.
In case anyone thinks I am daft to walk away I could share with you a vile PM that got sent to me last night. It is clear that abuse on the forum is no longer enough so it now goes to my inbox. I responded offering to exchange honest views but that response was ignored.
Thanks for the protection mods. You are doing a fine job.

I just ignore the political threads nowadays. Too much like hard work, too fractious, too emotional.
Marrakech is my destination in Morocco.

You cannot ignore your PM inbox though can you?

  14. The problem with politics at the moment is it is quite polarised and I suspect more people than usual find it hard to post without emotion - I absolutely include myself in that!

I liked Marrakech but it was pretty full on. Still, the main square at night was a real sight to see and something I'll always remember.

I see it's the football world cup final today - oh I am wrong - it's just Man united Liverpool. The most self indulgent over hyped fixture in the calendar.

Just publish the messages. You are under no obligation to not put what you receive into the public domain. Then ignore it. The problem will vanish when abusers realise there is no hiding place.

    Anyway that's my lot. C'mon u'orns <cheers>

Sad that it's come to this but I think life's too short to pursue anything that aggravates. I must say that I've reached the stage where there is some personal satisfaction to be derived from ignoring things. :emoticon-0100-smile

It is wrong to hijack the Nest like this. Let's forget it. At the end of the day individual posters are not the problem as we all do things we are more or less proud of - especially when we get off football. I wish we had "aggressive" modding but that has never been the style here - as a mod I never had to delete a single post nor ban anyone. People come, people go, there are a lot more important things in life. Luckily none of us live in Ghouta - then we would have something to moan about.

With respect to those that like to blame mods, you have not read PMs that stopped a recent situation spiralling. Believe me they are not one-sided at all and deftly, with no bias, responded. Not everything that was posted, from more than one party, remains on the boards either, so you might not be aware of what was said. Suffice to say, I have Leo on ignore, I’m sure, and hope, he’s done likewise, and hopefully that will have the desired effect.
Things were said that I won’t forget or forgive, Leo probably feels the same, but we move on.

Arsenal tomorrow is the important thing. COYH. <ok>
