completely agree that his agent was obviously a major reason for what happened and the confusion,
from what ive heard Carroll isnt the smartest of lads and so it may not have been that hard for his agent to push both other parties towards a deal.

To be honest though Ashley has form when it comes to trying to muddy the waters about whos fault decisions are, and I this would have been much eassier to take if everyon involved came out and said, we wanted carroll to stay but at the end of the day, 35million for the club and 80k a week for him were just too good to turn down which is probably the reason he was sold not because one party forced it on the other

For my money Llambias and Pardew's explanation's are the same and entirely plausable

as apposed to Carroll's, which changes by the minute and is pretty much a conspiracy theory

for once i'm actually on Ashley's side, staying in the EPL is our goal and that in itself produces massive amounts of revenue

We won the champsionship easily with little input from him, we are unbeaten in 2011 with 4 games gone without him
We'll still get behind the lads just as much week in week out, and we have £35 million in the bank

i really can't see a problem losing the lying little toe rag

Did anyone listen to TalkSport yesterday??

I tuned in around 1pm hoping to catch some of Pardews interview, which didn't happen. But instead they had this lad from Tyne Talk who apparently received Carrolls text messages.

He waffled on about these text and made suggests about Ashley & Lambias "You know what they're like" " Can they be trust" etc but at no point did he mention the renegotiated contract talks, asking for more money or handing in a transfer request!!!
He just harped on about him being pushed out.

For once I actually belive the board - which is not something I'm used to saying

I honestly dont think either party (carroll and NUFC board) put up much of a fight. Once Carrolls agent had told him what salary liverpool would offer it tempted him to go, NUFC couldnt match it. Both felt like they didnt want it to happen, but like a young couple who have lost the excitement of that first kiss and have decided to go their own ways, it was just a matter of saying goodbyes. One gets £35 million in the bank for an assett which cost the company nowt to buy, another gets an extra £4million a year to stick in his Smiley Saver bank account. All the current blaming is just in response to media speculation - its the agent looking for his cut and a consequence of chelsea dropping a huge amount of cash into the system taht set everything in motion.
the truth is both (carroll and nufc) financially win out if it.
And the price was inflated as ....
    1. it was the last few hours of the window
    2. Liverpool had cashed in on Torres so had loads of money in their bank
    3. Liverpool also knew NUFC did not want to sell him (but knew they would if it was daft offer)
    4. he is young and english

How do we benefit from the sale except for the £35 million??

It was reported that we'd turned down £30 million which already is silly money

Now we have 4 strikers left at the club who are hardly proven goalscorers, we still haven't secured our safety and we had very little time to sign a player who's valuation wasn't inflated.

The con's far out way the pro's

and to top it all, Carroll could of said no

I'm sorry but Carroll's story stinks and the boards story is sensible

Still when we stay up this season it will make for an interesting Summer, can't wait to see who we bring in for that sort of money (providing Fat Mike hasn't spent it on roulette and pastys by then).

What took the cupcake was Carroll and "I'm gutted that I wasn't wanted at my home team after everything I have done"..... Are you ******* kidding me???? Why not go in the changing room and ask the manager and players if they wanted you, why not step out onto the ******* street and ask every single Newcastle United fan if they wanted you???? And you have the cheek to claim we didn't want you based on a complete crock story that MIKE ASHLEY, the most hated man in the North East, didn't want you???

And of course, "after everything I have done"..... half a season in the Premier League and a good season in the Championship.... One big reason we might all be so angry is because you've gone before you've even done **** all in reality. You have the potential, you certianly ain't been here long enough to fulfil it mate, nice one. *****.

Hi, I don't normally post but thought I'd add my view. I think it's a damn shame AC has gone but I can't blame the club for it. Even if the club said ' Hey - its too good an offer to turn down!' I would understand. After all, why would Mike Ashley lie? He doesn't give a flying f*** what we the fans think anyway!

The reason I think it's a shame is because AC could have achieved legendary status at SJP. It's very doubtful if he'll achieve that at Anfield. I feel the agent(s) have played a massive part in this and showed him the dollar signs. A good agent would have said, 'Look Andy, you live in an area you love, play for the team you love, will never have to worry about money - don't be too hasty - Give it a few years and see how this team develops!' - He could have then re-negotiated his contact in the summer.

As you say he'd not want for money even with what he was on here, I still see this as a bad move for him cause with the heft price tag comes a huge expectation.
If we'd paid that kind of money we'd want instant dividend not a player out for 4-5 weeks to start with, he also had players like Nolan or John Carver to put an arm around him and keep him on the straight and narrow. And give him time to develope in a comfortable familiar home enviroment, if he doesn't perform do you see them being as patient??

Who will do that at liverfool, he could easily end up going down the path Barton has already gone down.

We'd give him time to develope in a comfortable familiar home enviroment, if he doesn't perform do you see them being as patient??

This could seriously blow up in his face, he's risen to fame very quickly and in a relativly short space of time. That inflated price tag will only further boost his ego to breaking point.

Carroll has gone for money. He said so himself. If you read what carroll has said he has said he admitted he asked for a new contract and when he was told no he asked why. For me thats the be all and end all of it. He spoke to liverpool because the club wouldnt agree a new contract at the moment. ergo he went for money. Maybe he was worth a better contract, but thats not the point here. AC is trying to save face with the Newcastle fans so he can go out in town on the razz with his mates. He cant have it both ways, he turned his back on the club end of.

As for how he'll do at Liverpool who knows. Hes got the talent for sure. However i always think that (this is me mind you) that a player will always give that little bit extra when your heart is at the club you're at. For a young inexperienced lad like AC Liverpool may prove difficult for him. On the other hand he may embrase it. If you look at Peter Beardsly. He was a great player that left at a young age and while he had some good times at Liverpool it didnt really work for him. He faired better at Everton then came back to us where he had imo the best stage of his career. The sun isnt always brighter.

Of course this maybe wishful thinking, deep down we all want the move to fail as it makes it less painful for us!

Can't see Liverpool being as patient as he has a big price tage and expectation to live up to. He's having to fill the boots of their last hero Torres and if he doesnt hit the ground running it could all go pear shaped. Pity he could have been a Newcastle icon for generations to come but instead due to a rash and ill advised decision he be remembered as a money grabbing judas.
