Thanks glory Stop off at our usual pub in London Colney for a bit of lunch & a Guinness or two. It all goes downhill after that !
You training it. I always used to go via m42, m40, a34 round oxford down to the M4 junction at Chievely. Miles quicker than via the m25 especially as I am sure there are roadworks on the western section atm.
I maybe wrong with our stop-off point. I travel with the Griffin Branch so Phil makes the decision which pub we head to. Another one we use is at Telford so that could be the one tomorrow
If you are not driving and the beer flows they tend to be good days... slightly envious.. it’s the away days I liked most and miss.
Yeh me too...last one was 1992 Sheff Utd. Nope I tell a lie, just remembered went to Villa first away game as champions and sat with the Villa faithful listening to them begrudgingly purr about what a great team we were. Didn't win an away game all season and finished 18th as I remember. Which proves we are definitely an all or nothing type of club, but when we get it right, which granted is not often as history proves then the joy the sheer bloody joy is unbelievable. Great days and great memories. Oh and we'll win tomorrow.
Think we paid 3m for him. Wont recoup one penny for him as a footballer. Better to keep him as a groundsman and get some value for our money
Strongly disagree as I believe there is a player in there somewhere. Like a lot of players he may not show it with us and it will be another team that's benefits from a bargain buy. Also he's had the crowd on his back for failing to arrive at the club as the finished article which has stunted his development. Time will tell of course...differing opinions that's what it's all about.
But whether there is a player cleverly hidden in there or not, I cant see anyone going to pay money for him let alone want to take on his three or four year contract. We’re stuck with him and may try and find some use for him as a footballer
When I see Anita picked as left or right back, when I see a bang out of form Phillips and O'Kane on the teamsheet, when I see Sacko given yet other chance I start to wonder about the credentials of PH. Been here a month now and cant seem to stop the rot, he has managed to get a couple of 2nd half performances and he did scrape a win against Brentford, but where is our 'new manager bounce', why is the defence still a shambles. We have a set piece coach who doesn't have a clue and now PH is changing to man marking as he cant teach footballers to zonal mark?
Away games are my favourites. Admittedly they are mainly all I attend, for personal reasons, but I love the tribal atmosphere when those rough northerners descend on some southern pretty boy town
Before some of you decide to rip into me because of the above post about PH let me explain a few things. How many were drooling when you heard who the new manager was. How many (Like me) looked at stats for the season before last to get an explanation of why he was chosen, and confirmed it could be a great move. How many expected to see some improvements in tactics I expected to see him take a couple of weeks and 3 games to know who was decent, who could be decent and who needs leaving out. I hope he is the manager for a very long time, which means he will be great at his job. Guessing he will be there until the Summer only if results and performances dont improve
As the players entered the field for the second half on Wednesday, the Kaiser Chiefs I predict a riot was playing. I thought that song had been banned as it made the fans A little excited. Surely a bit of action in the crowd might excite the players into putting in a shift
