Ridiculous idea. Though any spending on infrastructure provides so much more pay back over time than the cost to construct it.
He's as potty as the day is long, our Boris. But I must confess he's my favourite Tory. I've gone right off the Daily Mirror since the Brexit referendum. Can't stand newspapers or well-to-do celebrities telling working people that they voted the wrong way. One person, one vote, two million majority. It's called Democracy, and it has nothing to do with Parliament - which has never represented anybody except Lords and the Landed Gentry. A Channel bridge is a stupid idea though. We could do with about six more bridges over the Thames, all of which which would cost about 1% as much.
Just for your Mr. Lardiman...... http://www.independent.co.uk/voices...xit-garden-bridge-france-calais-a8167826.html
I think Boris deserves his own thread, he is such great entertainment value. Hopefully this one can be expanded to accommodate his other antics...
I'll admit, if I was the husband of that poor woman in prison in Iran I would want to punch BJ's stupid face in as well. But they wouldn't have let her go anyway. He's one of a pair of ridiculous political Clowns, the other one being Nigel Farage. But the supposedly more responsible and moderate politicians have failed to address the problems of our age, so allowing these characters to step into the vacuum.
It's a misquote. He actually asked the French President if he'd like to cross Biffin's Bridge not Boris's Bridge. He did go to Eton after all...............
He is not known by his christian name for being a politician senior or otherwise. He is known as Boris because he appeared on TV in comic rolls playing the idiot with the scruffy hair cut. I hear stories of him wanting to become PM and having ambitions towards No10. Can you imagine the Donald and Boris show? God help us.
Sorry, what's Brexit? I've been so obsessed with waiting for Roland to sell I've missed any other news.
She's gonna have to make a loop and tie the knot for him if she wants him to use it though. Or he could get his man to do it for him I suppose. I doubt he's learned to tie his own shoe laces yet.
We've just seen the beginning of the end of Boris' leadership ambitions. If the Conservative Party wants to move towards the centre ground his brother will overtake him.
Talking of universally despised politicians, any ideas as to why Nick Clegg is now a Knight of the Realm?
How noble of him, declining the offer of nobility. Betraying lib-dem voters (bless 'em) and wrecking his own party to prop up that shiny-headed spiv Cameron are Sir Nick's true legacy.
Further proof of how silly the honours system is. And is constantly abused by premiers of both parties, although you won't admit that.
