Yep 2-1 Saints. It is written in the stars. 2 Years ago my daughter gave birth (10th March - Thursday night) and we went away to Stoke on the Saturday and won 2-1. She has 4 hours to pop the second one out and then we can let history repeat itself with a 2-1 victory away from home
---------------McCarthy--------------- Cedric Stephens Hoedt Bertrand ----------------Romeu------------------ JWP------------------------------Sims -----------------Lemina---------------- ------Gabbiadini-----Carrillo-------- Bench: Tadic, Boufal, Højbjerg , Redmond, Forster, McQueen and sadly Benarek
Looking forward to Saints scoring a goal like this, on Saturday. Well just scoring a goal or more will do, going in off someone’s backside. http://the18.com/soccer-videos/baye...al&utm_source=facebook&utm_content=video-post
I am so surprised we are not wining more games with these 2 out, given they get most of the blame when they were playing and we didn't win.
Everyone keeps saying this, but if we've got so many good players, how come the vultures only came after Van Dijk last summer? Our squad is what's left after the big boys picked the bones.
There seems to be a contrasting difference between our performances and Newcastles this season. Under Pellegrino we play in a timid and unadventurous style, almost so afraid of losing that a draw seems like a good result for MP2. Newcastle on the other hand are managed by a tactically superior manager whose team are seriously lacking in comparison to ours. However Newcastle have been very sporadic in performances this season, especially at home where they've beaten Man Utd but lost to Bournemouth, Watford, Leicester and Everton. (They've also drawn a lot but that doesn't fit in with my narrative ) IMO we've shown a fair amount of fight in recent games and although we're not winning we do seem difficult to beat. Therefore I predict 2-1 to Saints.
In fairness, we have a squad now lacking stars at ‘big boy’ level (minus Lemina and perhaps Cedric/Bertie), but I think the point is that is still has players, on paper, that are rather better than those around (and above) us.
Not massively though, I'd rank our squad around lower mid table on paper, something like 14th without thinking about it loads. But there isn't a huge amount of difference between about 5 squads and it is just how well they are managed/confidence which decides where they finish.
On paper we are better than the 3 promoted sides, Burnley, Swansea and maybe Stoke, after that I think you could make a case for anyone else being on a par as a minimum. I'm probably missing someone obvious who is worse
