Perhaps it was always like this but unless you actually spoke to rival fans you wouldn't know.

Question from an outsider. Do you still get families split between the two teams like you used to? As in under the same roof stuff?

Yeah, it used to be fantastic to see the blue amongst the red at homecomings.<ok>

Emlyn Hughes was bang out of order to quote the "Liverpool are magic Everton are tragic" terrace chant on the steps of Picton Library at the 74 FA Cup homecoming when there were hundreds of Evertonians in the crowd, his excuse was he was drunk but he must have saw them due to them wearing their club colour.<doh>
I think we both know why it wouldn't happen now but let's not get into it, I'll just honestly say that if it was the other way around I'd have probably felt the way the blues did in 85-86.<ok>

But all in all in general it's a sad sign of the times.

But most of us either shared the family house, had mates in school or work that were the blues/reds or vice versa, or if older had mates in the pub that supported the opposite team than yourself.
It was very amicable and safe for us to go in the Street End or them in the Kop on derby day.

I can only speak for myself on this one, but my entire family are Blues, aunties, uncles and cousins, the lot.

However, a bit before my time it was common place for some families to go to Anfield one week and Goodison the next, irrespective of their loyalties, as they just wanted to watch some togger.

My Dad [love him, miss him] was an Evertonian - me and my brother are reds. Although, due to my age that is going back a bit <laugh>

Quite a bit younger than me PJS is a blue, his brother is a red. I have a friend who's a red and both his boys are blue he says because when they were younger he worked a lot and couldn't take them to the football so his brother in law stepped up and took them but he's a blue. My lads weren't given a choice so we're all reds in our house - or theirs and ours as it is now.

The ‘84 League cup final summed up how it worked back then mate, we travelled down together, sat together and there wasn’t a moments bother. Even after we’d watched a ****e 0-0 we sang Merseyside, Merseyside together.

Just wouldn’t happen now, sad like, I blame the wools :bandit:

I've got blue cousins, hang on I better rephrase that because they sound like Smurf's.<laugh>
I've got cousins who are blues and there's no way we'd ever fall out, banter only.

I was thinking more generally rather just within Liverpool. I became a red because my brother was a blue although I was quite young at the time so it wasn't an informed choice. No regrets.

Yeah I went down for that final on a half reds/blues coach from of all places the Bluehouse, it was a Sunday game but we went on the Saturday, the coach driver dropped us off outside Euston Station and said he'd be on the Wembley coach park after the game and vanished, so we just headed for Trafalgar Square, got drunk and slept rough, next morning there was thousands of other in the square and we had a massive party.
    Happy days.:emoticon-0100-smile

We’ve got married in Reds in the family, at dos they’re hideously out numbered and it makes for some funny exchanges after a few pints. Always a good laugh though, and as you say just good banter.

I was still too young to drink (legally :bandit:) and travelled down in the back of an old Renault with about 6 of us in it, I think the tank of tit we put in it doubled its value <laugh>

Did Miki not play any of Man U's CL games?

Or does playing CL and then EL not count as being cup tied?

Will take a massive collapse for Arsenal not to progress to the next round.

seem to remember that as long as the team you played for don't end up in EL it doesn't matter which is why why he is eligible but Auba isn't as BD came 3rd in their group .
