Game reminded me of a boxing match between a canny old pro and a talented younger type ... the old pro absorbed everything the young whippersnapper had to throw before knocking him senseless with a couple of calculated punches ... you live and learn ... <ok>

They will be on after we get tonked by AC Milan

I would hope that they would demonstrate greater decorum than that, mate.

It's weird. I should be hacked off, but I'm not. We lost to a fantastic side, but we put on a good show, and demonstrated so much potential for the future.

Potential can only carry you so far and you have to win a trophy before agents start to whisper in players ears about the money available elsewhere.

Spurs have a good team but not a great squad so if they were to lose a few players then they aren’t going to progress.

I've said this so many times, that I am growing tired of it.

Poch is about to take control of the best stadium in the World. He already has one of the best Academies at his disposal. Two of his heroes, Ardiles and Villa, are Spurs legends, and Levy loves the man.

Poch has one of the safest "top" jobs in football, at the moment. He has absolutely no reason to quit at this juncture and seek quick and easy fame and fortune at a place that is going to put him potentially out of his depth.

The key to keeping our squad together is Poch. The players love the boss. If he stays, they will stay.

All of our main players, with the sole exception of Alderweireld, are on long contracts.

Levy has also said that he will not sell any player that he wants to keep, including all of our stars.

I simply cannot see either Poch or any of our key players going anywhere for at least the next three seasons.

A fantastic side? <laugh>

Juventus are basically a side of has beens and big club rejects, they ain't no world class side. All they are good at is parking the bus.

You lot dominated both legs yet stupidly threw the game away with wasteful and naive play.

... he's also an ex-PSG player and they are in the market for a new manager ... did Poch ever play for Spurs? <whistle>

.

<laugh> Not even one of the best mate? The best stadium in the world?

What a shame then, that it's located in just about the worst High Road in Europe.

Can't deny I'm pretty gutted.

Proud of how we played throughout the competition though, damn site better than last year! Topping the group of death and then losing to a world class side who've made the final twice in the past three years is no embarrassment.

For me, the game was won and lost in management. Allegri (obviously) came out on top and somewhat schooled Poch, it's not often I'll say something like that as I'm one of Poch's biggest fans but quite simply he was outclassed in that game. Allegri showed how to be a proactive manager instead of a reactive manager. Made changes early on, two subs in a minute and within 6 or 7 of those minutes, they grabbed two goals and then took off a striker roughly five mins afterwards to preserve that lead, to me that's elite level management. Poch on the other hand seemingly waited for something to go wrong before changing it and by then - even though we managed to claw back in the first leg - Juve are the kings of defending a lead and so it was game over really. Poch should've made changes far earlier as both Alli and Dier were tiring early on in the second half, he should've brought fresh players on to help preserve that lead and also give Juve something else to think about.

Basically, what’s happened is that we’ve now taken Arsenal’s place at the CL top table, but with the major difference that we look so much more potent.

No way will Poch want to go out on the last 16. He’s so much more ambitious than Wenger.

Still, I reckon it’s too soon for us, and that Juve will do us.

Last 16 is far as we’ll get this time, and we’ll look to go further next season.

Top jobs at a club that’s flattered to deceive for 57 years. <laugh> You should branch into comedy Les.

I'm excited. I came up with a slogan for you.
We have "next year is ours" you can have "there's always tomorrow". This links to your never ending promise but no actual trophies.
You've inspired me and can take credit for that.

Shortened "next year" equals "maybe tomorrow".

Somebody post up The littlest Hobo theme tune?
