So come on? What tactics is the ****er going to employ on Saturday? If he goes for attack, he's probably ****ed. We're better now than we were at dealing with bus parking. The worst case is that we concede the first goal and we face two banks of 5 PLUS de Gea. What can we expect from KO?

Would guess he will go for a draw as utd are above us and that will be his mentality of just make sure they don't go above us. Reckon it will be another dull game between us both.

Hasn't he been moaning about the fans recently that they don't give out a great atmosphere at the ****hole. Lives in his own little world plays dull negative football and expects the fans to love it.

Why do we not entertain the idea that Utd may attack us and score and win?
For all our opinions on the football Jose is very good in this position, this is going to a tight game with two of the top 3 sides in the country going at each other.
Both sides are capable of a narrow win
Both sides are capable of smashing each other
So why do we always big ourselves for up for the fall.

We are like england fans in the world cup

Can only make a prediction based on what Mourinho has served up in the past.

I think we’ll win this game personally and if we do score inside 20 minutes then the game will obviously be vastly different to what we’ve seen in the last couple of years.

Because we don’t all love mourinho like you do. When was last time his club ‘smashed’ another top side?

hes decent record against top sides is when he plays defensive football and looks tonfrustrate and nick a goal. That’s how he’s been successful agaisnt them

    Woah i dont love him
But i do respect him and think he is arguably one of the best managers i have seem in my lifetime.
I dont know when he last smashed a side and I am not expecting utd to smash us
However we are playing a team that has smashed people this season, Tends to be the like of west ham etc.
Not only that they have a goalkeeper that we have struggled against.
Take a look at that list at the start of the OP it not great reading for us.

For those who love watching style, when do we turn up against utd, that last game we did not cover ourselves in glory.

No point in smashing teams if we dont do something with it, like the year we won at OT 4-1, who won the league that year? I dont just want to win a battle I want to win a war.

Lets say we win on Saturday which would be great, i have this niggling doubt in the back of my head that either we will then lose the next two so Utd are back above us or we will draw them in CL and lose.

I just dont understand the logic of figuring that we are going to turn them over, we win a few get excited, then they turn us over and we are back at square one.

There is nothing any of us can do
And i will be behind my pillow on Saturday hoping for the best and hoping that we do a number on them.

I realise that you guys are doing nothing wrong getting excited, in fact i am just jealous i cant do the same and join in the obvious excitement that is this fixture - i just hate it
It literally turns my stomach :(

Most of mourinhos success has come over the past 15 years by beating lower teams home and away and frustrating big sides

If we look at his record:

    1. porto. big club there is small league but he could do exactly what i said. he got a lucky run in CL in that no big side after utd in last 16. (only beat utd based on very late away goal) lyon, deprotivo monaco for his run to final.

    2. joins cheslea. Team in 2nd with mega bucks new owner. spend what you like and do exactly what i said. no cl. wins a couple cups in his 2.5 years too.

    3. Joins inter. Team already champions. dominant in italy due to juve scandal. 2 years there yeah? finihses second in cl group v barca and has several dras in group (keeping it tight) grows grass long and plays negative to get past barca in semis beat cheslea and cska in other rounds and beats bayern who free in their big first final

    4. goes to real and wheels come off a bit. can utterly dominate but so can barca and barca hands him his head many times. no CL success, 3 semis though.. can repeat the trick. wins one league when messi is injured for a while.

    5. home to cheslea. again steps in as city implode and utd are goners. Takes the title then promptly manages 10th. sacked

    6. over to utd. wins europa.

There is a long history of success for the guy doing exactly the same things time and again. Hammer the small sides home and away to collect points and make sure you are not beaten by big sides. hes not got near another CL final in a long time.. and in fact was way under the success anchelotti and zidane delivered after him at real.

Utd's problem is they got him cos city got guardiola and guardiola has shown what a real football man does. he's beaten mourinho all ends up in spain and he looks to be doing it again here.

This is if anything the most competitive situation mourinho has found himself in now. If he doesn't adjust his ways he will just leak points to top half sides with utd and find a city team winning 3 in a row.

I think mourinho parked the bus v seville unnecessarily last round of CL and while utd have to be red hot favorites to go through a score draw and they are out.... he will park the bus in QF and SFs looking for that odd goal and control to get through and normally he comes a cropper as the best sides just stick the boot into his teams.

This is debatable. One of the most effective, certainly, and successful. But "best" can mean a number of things, and for me a team has to play enterprising and entertaining football on the way to its success for its manager to earn that accolade.
Mourinho doesn't do this - he stifles the life out of games whenever possible, and I just don't want to watch that all the time.
I haven't watched a lot of Utd's games this season, but they are 2nd in the league and have scored plenty of goals, so why are their own fans so underwhelmed? (And they are, for the most part, despite the fact that some on here will deny it).
It's because this style just isn't what they've come to expect, and the sugar coating of a trophy here and there will only partly mask the bitter taste of the style of play.

It does annoy me a little when our fans show so much fear of him when we're about to play them - he's hard to beat certainly, but there's no reason to fret before the event. I realise it's hard to put up with when you have a load of plastic Mancs on your case after a defeat, but that's a side issue and one you have to deal with differently.

    wise words indeed.

the usual suspects can be ignored. the usual blah blah blah stuff.

Utd have lots of fine players have spent hugely and like the rest of the top 5 not have absolutely tonked the rest of the league. Utd have if anything given up on the league and played relatively poorly and have allow us and spurs to catch up.

Make no mistkae utd have a very strong side. De Gea, Bailly, matic, pogba, lucky. they then fill in round that as mourinho desires. they score plenty as rashford and martial have bag and bags of pace and are good players. Sanchez coming in is a good player if grossly over paid now.

If you look at utd's form they lost to spurs and newcastle in january/feb but otherwise won their games that matter. over christmas they draw 3 in a row and lost to bristol city in league cup. its not that disasterous a form but they have just come off the edge they had over the rest of us.

I suppose once you given up internally on the league then thats what happens. I beleive once city beat them at old toilet they gave up and are not just ticking along to get 2nd but win as many cups as they can.

LFc have been on fine form and have dangerous players to hurt utd, just the same as hurt spurs and city. I feel we will easily match utd for work rate and won't fade as much as we did v spurs. Utd will find our work rate hard to stick with and I just feel it will be a game in mdifield with few risks being taken by either side.

e.g i cannot see utd putting 4 up to press us high. I can't see their full backs pushed on.

They are NOT capable of smashing us. We, on the other hand, are most definitely capable of smashing them. Just been out with that client who took me to OT for the match a couple of year back. He's ****ting it and thinks Jose is a fraud <laugh>

They won’t give you acres of grass to play into that’s a certainty. It could be a complete bore like the last game as they don’t need to win, merely avoid defeat. The game will need an early goal to make it interesting otherwise it could be a dull game of chess.

By dull game of chess do you mean Henderson Can and the CB's passing it sideways just inside our half lol....

As long as our midfield doesn't bottle it mentally which tbf they haven't done in a while I think we will win.

Think our forwards if they are given actual forward passes will make mincemeat of that defence.
