please log in to view this image nice looking car. shark fin is blended in with colour. why form this view the halo is hardly.... ahem.... noticable.
Half a second between Ricciardo and Alonso on the ultra soft compound. Ferrari and Mercedes in league of their own I’m afraid. EDIT: Alonso was on Hyper Soft, Ricc on the Ultra.
Lewis just done an 1:18:7 on supersoft on a quali style run - not the jump you would expect from the unmarked mediums he did his 18:9 on? Maybe its a carry on from previous whereby Merc can extract more on the harder compounds with less gain on the softer - or it could just be track specific.
Its interesting that the Merc and Ferrari are so low compared to Red Bull - just shows the different philosophy they have.
Wonder if RBR got a tow to get that speed, seems ridiculously quick compared to others even allowing for wing settings etc
Williams have been very slow in testing up to now. I fail to believe they are that far off the pace so I do wonder if they're up to something. They've always been a bit weird in free-practice so maybe it's nothing at all.
If Kubica gets in the car tomorrow and is up the road then we know its a driver issue. In years gone by Williams haven't been afraid to top the time sheets even though they were massively uncompetitive.
Ferrari seem very composed - not rushing into quali runs/softer tyre runs as such. Will be interesting to see when the ramp it up - either that or they are ****e lol
Ferrari look in a terrific position. I’m not a Ferrari fan by any means but I’ve been looking on impressively at them since about Day 2 of the first test. The best way I can describe their test is that they appear assured- very assured. Quick on medium and soft compound and consistent. No glory runs as far as I can see. If Red Bull could also make the leap, having the feisty pair of Danny Ricc and Max snapping at the heels of Lewis and Seb will cause absolute scenes all year. Fireworks that would be because you know Max and Danny don’t mind upsetting the Apple cart. However, I think the Ferrari and the Merc have about half a second cushion up their sleeve. Hope it proves to be less but right now it looks Ferrari and Merc for Melbourne with RBR a clear third. Fingers crossed the gaps narrow but we will see.
bar kimi getting blind drunk and ringing in with a hangover ferrari seem to have no drama. i dont think either merc or ferrari have stretched themselves yet. today was first real test day.
