Jessica Jones on Netflix. Not your normal Marvel production and David Tenant as the baddie is great.

My missus wants to watch that. But having seen the **** she’s clogged up my “continue watching for Roo” list with recently, I was put off by her recommendation to be honest. <laugh>

I wouldn't recommend Iron Fist, Luke Cage or The Defenders but Jessica Jones is good. Also, Manhunt: Unabomber ain't bad. I'm really struggling with Mars.

Thanks mate. I saw manhunt just before Christmas. Enjoyed that!

I’ll return the favour. Anyone who hasn’t seen Money Heist should give that a go. Only 1 season so far sadly, but well worth a watch. FYI it’s Spanish with subtitles. Hopefully that doesn’t put anyone off.

I remember that the first couple of episodes won't sell it to you. Stick with it. It gets a lot better .

Star Trek Discovery - just no. Watched it through to the end. No.

Like I said it's just a bit of fun. Don't go for stars as they are generally priced in.
As in any shares, sometimes the profit is in the dividends and not capital increase so go for players who you think will have good performances and be in the news.
It's enjoyable during transfer windows as the media get onto one particular player, or if you think someone is definitely going to be on the move.
Toby, for example towards the end of this season, if he doesn't sign an extension will be a good buy/bye IMO

Yeah I've been basing it so far on who I think will play well - bought a few Sonny shares and his price has gone up a bit already. Probably going to look predominantly at small "winnings" but may play a few long cons, especially with summer TW and the WC on the horizon. RE Toby, I'm thinking similar with Mahrez, he's surely going to be another headline grabber.

I loved the Revenant. Stunning cinematography and screenplay and was an intriguing insight into a time and place that Hollywood rarely explores. I could also watch Tom Hardy all day. His performance in 'Locke' should be standard study material at every drama school in the world. But if you're more into high-octane action, avoid it like the plague. It plods along at a Llorente-like pace mostly.

There's only one series I watch and it's the only one worth watching - Vikings.

Is that the one where he's sat in his car throughout the movie?

Yep. It's a work of art even though his welsh accent is a bit too practiced to be totally believable. But again, if you're more of an action-flick fan the closest Locke gets to action is when he almost misses his junction on the motorway.

He is a vastly underrated talent in my opinion. The Spurs of the film industry.

That's a good film, I was stoned and I sunk right into his dilemma. Have you seen his Series that was on a while back? 'Taboo' where he's grown up in Africa and is into his witchcraft and uses it when he returns to England to collect his inheritance? He directed that too, with his father I believe, as you say, great actor

I haven't seen it, thanks for the recommendation. Another lesser-known film he single-handedly lifts from mediocre to utterly gripping is 'The Drop'. Somehow pulls off a perfect Bronx accent in that one. Such a versatile actor.

Finally caught up with Legends last weekend, good film, enjoyed it.

  18. I was really looking forward to The Rev and the cinematography was brilliant - even if the upward shots of tall trees was over-used. It was just too slow and the concept of his recovery too ridiculous to keep my interest. Pity, as I’m a big LDC fan and thrilled he got an Oscar for it.
Will try ‘Locke’, cheers - if it’s got Tom Hardy in it then the missus will watch it :emoticon-0132-envy:

Yes he is rather easy on the eye isn't he. 'Smouldering' is how my better half describes him. Same description I gave her cooking.

Legend is good fun. If you liked his portrayal of the Krays you should watch Bronson. Absolutely mental.
