We need at least 4 players minimum before the window closes. A New right and left back, another centre half, and priority a striker.
After last night you could see players who are not premier league quality, Best, Lovenkrands. Jury is still out on Simpson as he had no support from Lovenkrands. No one should criticise Raylor we all know he is not a left back, but will give 100%. Midfield is strong, but don't see too many goals coming from there.Cabaye looks as though he will be the steal of the season.

In many ways , defeats to Scum and last night might have ramped up the pressure to spend on quality players as when the mediocre lads keep grinding results, where's the need to buy quality?

You realise we didn't play a first choice eleven last night? We need a left back and a striker. Personally I'd also like an improvement on Simpson but that's not a priority at the minute.

Best was one of our better players last night, except for his finishing. For me he is our best striker by some distance and I really don't understand why people criticise him. Simpson played well yesterday as well in my opinion and he is getting better and better every season.

If I was the manager I would sign Pieters, Roux and Onouha.

We need a new centre back as well. Williamson is injured and if Saylor picks up an injury now, who starts alongside Colo?

Exactly. He seems to have vanished! And if James Perch has to start CB in the Prem, you know you're squads to thin!

For those who think Best is a good striker please look at his stats. I believe he has a slightly better goals to games ratio than Shola. According to Wikipedia he has scored 48 goals in 200 games. Of which the bulk have them have been outside the top division. Sholas is 48 in 238 games most of which have been in the premiership and europe.

Now dont get me wrong, Sholas stats are poor.

Because we have been so used to dross up front for years (Carroll aside) we forget what a good striker is about and thats SCORING GOALS.

If a striker cant score goals then hes not a good striker. It really is as simple as that.

And this my friends is why people get on the back of Best, Shola and Lover. If they scored goals consistantly then they are doing what we expect them to do.

Workrate and effort from a player sometiems hides the true fact that they are not actually that good.

    Rant over.

    BEST IS AVERAGE AT BEST!

Being a strikers isn't all about scoring although obviously it is a main part of their job description. Best stands out from Ba and shola because he has the ability to bring others into play around him as we saw plenty of after half time last night.

It took extra time to beat a league one side, in x3 90 min games[nt extra time] we have failed to score from open play and look toothless.
Plus are star player is joining qpr today.bar that we are world beaters

I dont think simpson had one of his better games, but generally is improving with each game.

Best gets a lot of stick which he does not deserve!!

    those signings would be decent!

We will be lucky if we sign the 2 players we are told we need. Got no chance of getting 4, unless you count the trialists, 1 of whom should be signing.

He is a development player who may or may not make it. Onouha would be perfect. He can start right back and cover centre back if we get hit by injuries. The perfect signing! He will cost £4 million and is still young.

    aginairrr for manager!

Basically that is what we need. A versatile player to cover the whole back 4, a first-team quality left-back and a pacy striker.

I think Situ has played in national age groups all the way to U21's (maybe U20's) but he could cover CB for this year and Tiote can always drop back but I agree we need another CB but I don't think it is a priority.

Totally agree! Him, Pieters and Roux will cost a combined £15m with low wages meaning Pie Boy is in pocket again BUT we actually get the players we need for once. I don't see any need to replace Barton if he goes as I see Marveaux replacing him on the right and with Jonas, Ben Arfa, Tiote, Cabaye, Guthrie, Smith, Vuckic, Gosling (big improvement needed on last night), Abeid, Ferguson, Sammeobi in the squad we have loads of competition in midfield.
