AnyBuyer can't play on Sunday, so we'll start September with nul point and rock bottom of the table, what an attaractive proposition for new players that will be. Our players bought in thus far are a free signing, a youngster for the reserves, a youngster for the reserves, a loan player and a loan youngster for the reserves - where IS our transfer budget??? Is the party ruined Schteff? if not, make sure to bring plenty of drugs and alcohol, we need it!
DB if you would stop moaning for a moment and consider the situation. There is a new stadium on the horizon, whatever Levy can squirrell away now reduces the burden that will be around Spurs neck once it gets under way. If he can maintain and improve the team without spending a fortune he should be praised rather than criticised
The problem we are going to face, Spurf, is that the new stadium is several years away. In the meantime, we have to find some way of, at least, maintaining our current position, and keeping the core of our squad. Neither of these will be easy given our current wage structure. Modric, almost certainly, won't be the last of our top players to be lured by rivals who pay far more than we currently do.
Whether we can maintain our position or not, you can not take on increasing overheads at the same time as funding a major capital project. So far we HAVE maintained our squad and added to it without a massive investment. Well done Levy.
DB - you had it spot on imo. Levy is doing loans because he doesn't believe Harry will be here next season. The transfer budget will be passed to the next manager. These loans usually have an option to buy as well, so if these guys work out, they could become perm transfers next year?
It's not without irony that he's ended up at the club who's fans probably gave him the most abuse going. I think that partly illustrates how desperate he is to play 1st team football, and how mercenary Man City are. That said, he's a top player and he could do really well at Spurs. That is as long as his massive ego is massaged by Harry and the rest of the squad, that you always pass the ball to him, and you tell him how nice his hair is.... Otherwise, you'll just end up with a disruptive brat in the team

I agree with everything ensil and spurf have said. they are great points. however, I'm with harry on the quote regarding modric's future. After our selling techniques in the past, i'm not going to be happy until september 1st.
I saw that report. Doesn't actually say Luka is happy to stay or whether the meeting ironed out any issues. I hope you are right. Modric in the right frame of mind will be fantastic for us this year, but it will midnight Aug 31 before I am fully convinced.
So far. And only by effectively kidnapping Modric. As I said, that will just be the tip of the iceberg if we don't sort it out. We have a fine squad of players, currently. One of the best we've had in many years. It would be a tragedy to see it fall apart for want of investment. Can't spend, or won't spend? I'm not so sure.
He is pretty top class so to have him on loan and he chose us over other champions league football is great.
