A tweet from Bill I can confirm reports that I was diagnosed with prostate and bone cancer last November. I'm receiving excellent treatment including chemotherapy at @royalmarsdenNHS and am immensely grateful for the support I've had from colleagues @ClassicFM, where I continue to work. Dicky Bird Good luck with this Bill. I had a random test as my brother has it - you and I are pretty much the same age - and I was positive too. Operation later and I'm looking ok. I keep telling mates the same - get tested, you never know!! Keep positive if you can. All the best.

I had a camera where it shouldn't be put last year but nothing was found My god it bloody hurt though but it was worth it just for peace of mind. The way Bill is reacting to the news has been uplifting to say the least and long may he stay with us.
