Messed up which bit? Not playing him and playing others instead - quite possibly, I like Mitro though my head tells me he may not have done any better than those we've tried. I do prefer him to Joselu though personally, but Jos has gained up some valuable points this season which shouldn't be conveniently forgotten. Letting Mitro go on loan. The correct decision and if he does well we'll hopefully get 5-10m for him. If Fulham come up we can probably extend that to £10-15m. There's a chance it could all click for him and he'll end up being worth a chunk more than that but I think he's a good 15 goals in the Championship, 8 goals in the Premiership kind of striker who brings other players into the game. Kevin Doyle standard.
I don’t think Rafa messed up sending him on loan. He wasn’t going to play him and got someone on loan he will. Yes he isn’t fit but Mitro was all season and didn’t play. Plus there are other factors. Mitro is 22-23. It’s not fair on a young lad to hold back his career. It’s also World Cup year, he needs to find form to be picked and playing. He deserves that having helped fire them there. I don’t agree with Rafas treatment of him. I think he has played an inferior striker and potentially cost us points. However Mitro hasn’t helped himself with that West Ham incident. I think he would make a decent striker but I think it may take a little longer because of the type of striker he is. He needs to find a coach to help him develop and mature. For Diego Costa that guy was Diego Simeone (a similarly tempered guy) - albeit he had more ability (though he’d not really shown it). Indeed at this stage in his career he’d looked a lesser player than Mitro has at the same stage. Perhaps Fulham’s manager can be that guy as he knows him well. He was a physical footballer, seems an uncompromising manager. He might just be better suited than Rafa and know how to get him to tick. Every single manager in the world has players who don’t flourish under their guidance.
Cut out his daft antics and there is a player there no doubt. Good enough for any mid table side who plays to his strengths. And that’s the problem in rafas mind. He makes silly mistakes and does not fit in with how Rafa currently wants to play. We should sell in the summer and see how slim fits in till then (if he ever plays).
He never looked fully fit to me,but i do like him, work on his fitness and I think he could do very well for us
Yes if he plays well and we can get a deal done. The key point here is it depends on how he does. Rafa wanted him, he can now try before we buy. The big problem for Rafa right now is if he gets back and fit, does he drop a potentially in form Gayle to accommodate him?
**** no, he drops a woeful ****ing Ayoze Perez and plays 2 up top! In all honesty I can't see us being interested in a permanent deal if he does the business, more so if the fat ****er is still around in the summer. He'll be 30 in June, Leicester paid nearly £30m for the bloke and he still has 3 years left on his contract. I can't see them letting him go for much less than £20m in today's market and there's nee way we'll break our transfer record for him. Just my opinion like.
Seriously Hope the lad gets 15 odd goals in this second half the season then goes on to smash the WC in Russia. Prove Rafa wrong and win's his space back at the club - Rafa or no Rafa
His disgraceful treatment really could be Rafas undoing here. I love the kid and wouldnhappily have him back in the side.
I suspected he might start flying under a manager who put faith in him. Going well, we will pick up some decent money if he continues. Jokanovic thinks there will be a lot of suitors. Slotted in well to their football style. https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spo...clubs-interested-aleksandar-mitrovic-14359086
He never really got a look in for us in the championship either though. Might be that the premier league is his level but unless you are given a proper chance you'll never know.
And whilst Rafa is here we never will ................... so best we just forget about the kid and move on. Maybe Rafa has dropped a clanger here, who knows......... but I would rather have Rafa than Mitro so i'll live with what could be a bad decision, in the belief that Rafa still has the skills to keep us up.
Frustrating, but it is what it is. Jokanovic is an 'arm around the shoulder' manager, let players be players. Rafa is a "do exactly what i tell you, number 18" manager-by-numbers. If Mitrovic had stayed, he wouldn't be enjoying the football he was made to play and we wouldn't be seeing a different player. It's just one of those things that does not work. Mitro could score 20 before the end of the season and with Benitez as manager would still be a turkey next season here.
In Rafa I trust...to organise a defense, past that I have very very little faith. End of the day if you can't see he's messed up with our strikers this year - which may cost us our place in the league - then there is nowt that could take your rose-tinted glasses off.
Mitro is at his level. Outside of that a workman can only use the tools he has been given. Could you build a wall with a spoon and a box of tea bags?
Better than Trumps wall for sure!, Mitro is clearly above Champ level hence he's scoring a goal a game something Gayle/Joselu could only dream of (FYI he has a better GPM ratio than either of the other 2 in the EPL as well). Between them this year 46 appearances - 9 goals - mitro 2 years ago - 34 apps 9 goals. Rafa dropped the ball there just admit it
