The original thread is kind of correct - the term Al-Queda was made up by the Americans. But it was to simply group all the different extremists under one banner so to the thick general public they had a hate figure if you like, Robin Cook is confirming this & this alone not that actions didn't take place! Simply there are lots of diffferent terrorist organisations around the world,each doing there own thing & in some cases working together by sharing information etc but it gets abit chaotic reporting all the different groups so they just called them Al-Queda for the sake of easiness. Think of Life of Brian - Peoples Front of Judai, Judains People Front..... & you kind of get the idea of why they made up a name to lump them all under. I mean who really gives a **** what actual group carries out what? As long as you know the enemy & someone to hate you can blow them thefuck up too!

I don't know what's more disturbing, the utter cretiny of some of the replies to the OP, or the fact that people are arguing about figures when it comes to the Holocaust. Whether the Nazis killed 10 or 10million Jews doesn't matter, the simple fact is they tried to wipe out an entire race and if you'd ever visited any of the camps that are left as reminders to this, you'd see that the brutality of what went on transcended anything that man had ever previously done and the number of people killed were literally too many to count.

Around 850,000 people - more than 99.5 percent of whom were Jews, but also other victims (among them 2,000 Romani people) - were killed there between July 1942 and October 1943. The truth: It was a transit stop where Jews were de-liced and had their hair cut before being shipped to occupied Russia. Train loads of Jews would arrive at T-II to be deloused. Their luggage would also be deloused. Once the procedure was completed, the Jews would board a new train that would take them to their final destination which was either a labor camp or ghetto somewhere in occupied Soviet territory. German documents indicate Jews were being funneled through Treblinka which was designated a transit camp. Treblinka played a major role in the deportation of Jews from the Warsaw ghetto to labor camps and ghettos farther east. Over six days in October of 1999, Australian scientists conducted a detailed forensic examination of the soil at the site, including the use of ground penetrating radar, and found absolutely no evidence whatsoever of any mass graves ever existing there.
...but it is true, the Holocaust that is, it's the simple fact that the Nazis actively tried to wipe out the whole race that's important to remember. Go to ANY of the camps and look around, you don't need to be a maths genius to figure out that MILLIONS were tortured and killed, that fact is there for all to see.
As for your comments about Treblinka, thefanwithnoname, where exactly did you get your information from as the camp commandant Franz Stangl was tried and found guilty for the deaths of around 900,000 people, he admitted to these killings but argued: "My conscience is clear. I was simply doing my duty."
it was carried out in october 1999 for 6 days by a team lead by richard krege i am not saying millions were not killed. or jews targetted however i do find it strange that red cross documents from the time dont mention it, neither does churchill in his diaries like everything else there are questions and imo doubts, banning asking questions detracts further, imo
