Yet again another quality player slips through the net.

Why didn’t we put a bid in?

When are we going to start paying the wages the quality footballer’s demand?

Oh! Sorry, I had a Clivetime moment.

Keep up the good work SG. :emoticon-0148-yes:

Whilst I enjoy the humour of this topic, it does make you realise just how far away we are from Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea, perhaps never to return.

I agree... i think football has changed since our fall from grace... and the only way in the current game is to have a billionaire owner...although Arsenal have nor splashed the cash like the rest..but may do now.

Our only hope is a take over although who knows what the future will bring...im not sure the money in the current game will continue in this way forever....

I see the really wealthy or massive worldwide supported clubs, ie Barca, Real Madrid, Arsenal, Man Utd, Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Inter Milan, AC Milan, PSG etc, forming their own league (resigning from UEFA) and leaving their countries domestic leagues. They would control television rights and all advertising, thus it makes more financial sense for them, this leaves the other teams to compete in their own league and as such Leeds could return to the top and compete, with similar financed teams.

I have said this will happen for a while, a league of about 14 clubs from europe. Sky would love it but it would just make the premiership a second tier league and if leeds were to be around the top spot, we wouldnt be known as any a bigger club as what we are now. And obviously there would be a relegation and promotion type thing but how could that possibly work with different teams coming from different leagues

It would end up being a tinpot relegationless division like in the RFL Super League. A few years down the line, you'd probably have American-style franchises like the Manchester Devils and the Milan Blackstripes or whatever ****e. That would be if it developed, which I seriously doubt it would. A lot of the people in football clubs are 100% insane, but the insanity levels at the footballing authorities are probably only about 65% or 70%. Not insane enough to actually let this bag of **** go through if idiots like Gartside from Bolton keep peddling it.

The fans wouldn't stand for it, it would completely remove the history of the game.
