Brendan Rodgers bashing hasn’t been a regular Hotline occurrence but the Celtic boss was getting both barrels. The Irishman’s claim that Rangers are better away from Ibrox didn’t help matters as a host of critical calls came in ahead of Sunday’s Old Firm showdown.

Lewis Fotheringham, Gartcosh, said: “I don’t like how Rodgers keeps talking about opposition teams. He’s already done it with Rangers, and Hearts when Jon Daly took interim charge after the chaos under Ian Cathro. Rodgers should keep his thoughts to himself as it is bordering on arrogance.”

Derek Paterson, Glasgow, said: “ Rodgers is a worried man ahead of the trip to Ibrox and that’s why he’s started the mind games.
“Rangers will show him on Sunday that we are as good at home as we are on the road. I’ve rarely been as confident of beating Celtic who are being exposed as a bang average side.”

Alan Robertson, Banchory, said: “I have lost all admiration for Rodgers after he stated Scott Brown was an Inspiration.
“This is the player who haunts, taunts, bullies and confronts everyone in his path on a football field and his reaction to the Aberdeen player getting sent off last week summed him up. If this is an Inspiration then Scottish football is in deeper trouble than I realised.”

John Allardyce, Edinburgh, said: “Rodgers will retire from football in Scotland but he knows he couldn’t handle the Arsenal job.
“He’s in a one horse league with no competition. Liverpool sacked him and he’s rubbish in Europe and any decent manager would win cups and titles. Rodgers is nothing special and English pundits already know that.”

Stephen Campbell, Yoker, said: “Rodgers is dreaming if he thinks Arsenal would consider him as an option for Arsenal if Arsene Wenger is replaced. His record in Europe is awful and the Gunners need someone who will will trophies, that’s why Rodgers is finished as far as the English Premier League is concerned.”

The problems with sevco and their issues are all too obvious to see for anyone with an iota of sense, yet james Forrest, phill Macghoilabhain and John James rabbit incessantly about them everyday with hardly a word about Celtic who have been in freefall for months now..the Celtic defence are more of an issue to me than the sevco deal with close Bros and the car park being hawked..change the tune ffs guys and tell us something we dont know..its same old drivel everyday about sevco being on their last legs and living on fumes etc.I'm scunnered listening to it..meanwhile sevco win on Sunday thenwin the semi final in April..and we're all wondering why nobody told us that Celtic are rotten and that sevco aren't dead.
