    always thought there was something sly about him.. and it appears his mask has slip and now exposed as a drug cheat.

    Cycling on the whole is riddled with problems.

    Private Eye has a regular medical article "A Doctor Writes". A few weeks ago it was some thing like:
    Have you got asthma? Symptoms include-
    Wheezing;
    Shortness of breath;
    Coughing;
    Winning the Tour de France.

    Chris Froome next. Professional cyclists are an odd breed.

    and the British Cycling team should be banned from International competitions until they can prove that they are clean!

    It must be just about the most physically demanding sport. 3 weeks of hell for the Tour de France. Tommy Simpson was a British hero who died in the middle of the Tour, collapsing on a hill climb, whose last words to the medics were "Put me back on my bike". He was popping all sorts of stimulants, they all were, it's just such a tough race. That's why I have a certain muted sympathy for them. Team Sky looks especially discredited now.

    I know of at least one British cyclist who isn’t on performance enhancing drugs - @ForestHillBilly

    Never mind the velodrome - you should see him on the pavement in Orpington High St <yikes>

    It means absolutely zero when a sportsman proclaims that he's clean. What else would someone like Linford Christie say? MacVicar saw through him though. And I wasn't surprised when there were allegations recently against Allan Wells, his change in physique was ridiculous even to me at the time. Remember the female East German swimmers winning all those gold medals? They are suffering terrible health problems now as a result of the organised state-sponsored doping.

    Doping yourself up to the eyeballs with the most potent drugs not on the 'banned' list in order to improve performance is every bit as much against the spirit of fair play and sportsmanship as crossing the invisible line into illegal doping.

    Wiggins and Team Sky have no credibility left. The man should definitely have his Knighthood taken away, because he devalues that as well by continuing to hold onto it.
    A news report on TV this morning said that SBW and Team Sky have mounted a "robust defence" - no they haven't!
    They could not explain their actions when they were asked straight questions, and now their "robust defence" is just denial and bluster.

    Illegal or not, they are nothing more than drug cheats.

    Having seen the very serious side effects of steroids when taken for genuine medical use, anyone taking them for something as trivial as sporting gain really gets what they deserve.

    Playing Russian roulette with their health.

    They have also found that the squeaky clean Lord Coe lied to a commons select committee over his awareness of the allegations against Russian athletes. No doubt Teflon Man will survive as he always has despite his awful record in combating drug abuse.

    Lord Coe is a different breed when it comes to cover ups. Wanted all the adulation, now hides and deflects from the truth.

    At least with Fifa we knew they were always a bunch of corrupt..
