Morning all, very wet, but mild here. I have some lettuce plants ready to go in the ground under the cover of some cloches. I had hoped to put them in this morning, but they will have to wait as I don't fancy a soaking.

Morning all. Sorry to see that you had a bad night Dave. I hope that you will feel better later. <ok>

Discovered that our nice shiny new dish washer is leaking water again. Telephoned for service and found they have a voice recognition service that you have to fight your way through to get to the right department. Fine if you remember to speak with a French accent, but it doesn't know what you are saying unless you speak through your nose. Despite my best efforts I still have an English accent that I doubt I will ever lose. :emoticon-0108-speec

Hope everything is ok. Yorkie, and that it's just a passing thing. Morocco is one of my favourite places and the food there belongs to the best in the world.

Morning all from a currently sunny rural France. Managed to get my lettuce plants in the ground yesterday, and they should be fine under their cloches.
My internet speed has really made a difference to watching football via the laptop. Last autumn it was 2 Mbps, then just before Christmas it went up to 9 Mbps, and now it has been further boosted to 15 Mbps. I know that to anyone who has fibre this will still seem painfully slow, but I am amazed that this is happening as I only have copper wires and the nearest exchange is 5 miles away.

Looks like we need to start a sick old codgers thread. Since the new year I have been to the hospital 16 times with Guinivere. Once when a blood test showed she was dangerously ill and the hospital phoned at 8.30 at night and said they were sending an ambulance immediately as her potassium levels were life threatening. Yesterday was the usual chemo treatment plus a heart MRI to follow up on a heart echo two weeks ago after the blood clot in her heart appears to be growing. She had a kidney MRI a few days before that. They only gave her half her supply of chemo drugs as they are not sure if she will have to come off them - shame as they had worked for over 5 years now. We always knew though this day would come. The problem is the chemo drugs thicken the blood but are needed to hold the cancer and the daily self injected warfarin substitue and aspirin are supposed to counter it and keep the blood thinner. It has not been working and she had a blood clot in her one remaining kidney which has killed off part of it. When her Heart MRI results come through they will have a meeting to see how they can balance the heart problem against the cancer problem. It's a fun life isn't it - you can see why I post so much on here to take my mind off the real world!
