Yes but Bradford is a dump with everywhere boarded up and nothing to do there so not that impressive. Certainly not as impressive as Norwich's crowds in a city a quarter of the size.<laugh>

For the first time this season, the OWS actually shows the name of the team and not just the badge...

There was only a handful of people voting, and you didn't get all of them. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

If it makes you happy to believe otherwise, you enjoy. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

What do we actually think the attendences are now?

2-3k lower than they say they are? I know Amber Nectar did a article on it.

So if our average is 14k-15k we could call that actually 12.5k folks turning up? Thats getting near Wigan standards.

Interstingly what do we think it would be if we had a decent chairmen here but still struggling in the league?

The amber nectar equation was 20% off. So for 14-15k, that's 11,200-12,000.

Which looking at the volume of empty seats, it's probably about right.

As I said the stadium was effectively full for a midweek fixture that wasn't even a local derby and we can only estimate how many were locked out (estimates certainly vary). I didn't suggest it was a record but it was without doubt an excellent attendance an an indication of the potential if things were done well. I certainly agree that the damage that the Allams have done will not be easily repaired. Some will return and some will not but we will have lost a generation of new fans in the meantime.

    Wikipedia

Crowd counting or crowd estimating is a technique used to count or estimate the number of people in a crowd.

The most direct method is to actually count each person in the crowd. For example, turnstiles are often used to precisely count the number of people entering an event.

It was a one off when there was a feelgood factor due to being in a new stadium and finally looking to be going somewhere after years in the doldrums.

I can't remember the last time I scanned my card,
Very good, but not everyone that enters the stadium goes through a turnstile, and not everyone that enters the stadium scans their card. Against Barnsley a steward asked me "have you scanned in?" When I told him I hadn't, and seldom did so (just the twice this season) he shrugged his shoulders and said "oh, ok then."

Agreed - it was very much a 'one off' in the sense that it was the first of many times that we have had a 21,000+ attendance. And yes, it was a very new stadium. was it the very first match? or the second? or maybe the third or fourth? Or was it actually about the 20th match at the 'new' KC stadium. No wonder in drew such a crowd eh?

It was a feelgood factor. The Swansea crowd caught everyone on the hop.
The only other 20,000 plus crowds were Doncaster and Huddersfield who both brought good followings. Being pedantic it was 20,903 so it wasn't the first of many 21,000+ crowds.
I hope we did have quite a few 21,000 crowds in tbe PL in a city this size.
This is a useful site for checking on crowds. http://www.european-football-statistics.co.uk/attn.htm

Showed it to someone in the pub a few seasons back who was saying we used to get 30,000 every week. I asked him when that was other than the Carter years as it had never happened in my time and I had been going for over 50 years. His reply was in the 1960s as we had over 40,000 for the Millwall game. Some people don't understand averages.
