I don't think you can accuse the team of not trying. Liverpool right now are absolutely mint. It's like it's a new thing having teams at the top of the league that are winning most of their games. It's just not us right now because of a comparative lack of investment which is another conversation all together. I can get behind this team win lose or draw because I think we are all pulling in the same direction. Something I hadn't been able to say for quite some time.

well liverpool , ok seemed a bit dull . But done a great job really .

No way out for us really all game , there midfield showed how slow and lazy ,our lot can be..
plenty men around the ball at all times ,with and without the ball.
we were never in the game.they could of stepped up as well.

It's the same old story. Really Rafa is blameless in this because he's trying to get a team with "players" like Joselu trying to get something against a team that's just spent more on a defender than we have on a team this year. How can anyone like us compete? Salah, Mane and Firmino all roughly cost the same and that's £100m right there.

I just don't like going into a season where your aim is 40 points. It doesn't really feel like a winning situation! As fans we want to win things and be entertained. The two are pretty much level in importance. We can neither win anything nor be entertained. I don't really understand why any of it exists in this format?

I’ve been saying it for years. The premiership is entertaining on the basis that you don’t support a team in it.

The broadcasting mutants self promote the importance of it. I will most likely watch the matches today because I will enjoy watching them significantly more than watching our toon.

It’s got to the point where winning matches is only the priority against teams of the same ilk. Money has I am afraid spoiled it for the majority. At least in the championship it felt a bit more entertaining but we nearly ****ed that up.

It’s the same in Scotland, I work in Scotland with a couple of Celtic fans and they genuinely believe it’s boring and that it will never change. It’s going to get like that in England.

Until the playing field is somehow levelled it will continue. Imagine if there was a cap on how much you could spend on both wages and fees then we would all have the same resources. Clearly never going to happen.

I watched that match bored to tears until the first goal and I just went ah well I can now go do something else. Mind numbing and predictable.

Quite a lot of our away fans don’t go to home games and only go to away games to get pissed. They are usually 18-25, mop headed with skinny fit drainpipe chinos and them silly long t shirts. Bell ends.

Watching the Brighton arsenal game and I just look at Brighton having a go and look what happens when you try to win...... you score goals.

Look they may lose the game but they are at least trying to win. Our pathetic effort yesterday to it lose is what will ultimately get us relegated.

2-0 and giving themselves a fighting chance. I wish Hughton was our manager. Oh wait... he once was!

To be fair though - Liverpool are a **** ton better than Arsenal right now.

We would have been ripped apart by their pace and quality if we'd gone for it yesterday - sad state of affairs I agree, but goal difference might have a big say in keeping us up

Howay lad, that's not like you. Ashley will be gone soon and happy days around the corner. Reading your posts, you sounded as staunch as me?

There's a few people mentioned this. Don't know what the fuss is about. There were a few choruses of In your Liverpool slums, sign on and the dreadful you stole our stereos. Nowt really, to be expected.

I used to admire their fans in the 70's and 80's, now they're chavs who think they've got a God given right to wins things. Bunch of tossers now imo.

Think it transcends fatty tbh. Football is nothing like it used to be. Money will always ruin everything.

Knowing that unless you’re over-funded you have no hope of anything kills it. There was always dominant sides but they were built on something admirable and had a sense of pride about them. With City it Chelski it’s that feeling of anybody with a blank chequebook could do it. The media pandering whilst ignoring the popular disgust is also a factor. Like any other fans give a **** how well Abu Dhabi City play? It’s like saying we should all love Philip Green because he’s rich and had nice shops.

It’s ****ed and Toon or not I find myself almost completely distanced from this sham of a sport. It’s got by far the least effective governing bodies so there’s very little hope for change. I guess in the future with a Euro super league the local clubs might get something back, but tbh it just looks ****ed. Not in a ‘it’s going to collapse’ sense, more in a ‘this isn’t football anymore’ sense. Zero Gravity Ball next on Sky Sports.
