So FINALLY, DF has come to realise that we need a STRIKER!!!! A summary f the main points in PD's column today - “In the final third the ball has to go over the line and between the posts. It is as simple as that. To improve there is just two topics. One, to work with the players we have and we do that – in terms of the finishing and speaking about being brutal – but there is a difference doing it in training and in front of 30,000.” “When I look at the players we have they are not nearing 40 years of age. Josh Murphy, Todd Cantwell, Marley Watkins, even Nelson (Oliveira), they are very young and they can all improve.“The other solution is to add this quality, and we have this in mind for the next transfer window. We are not naïve, we know this.” Farke accepts financial constraints will limit City’s room to wheel and deal this summer. “I would prefer to have a striker who has scored double figures in the Premier League or the Championship for the past seven seasons because that would mean a big guarantee of 20 goals a season,” he said. “When the financial situation does not permit this you have to be creative. That will be our topic.” “Hopefully we can keep this squad and strengthen it, in terms of scoring goals, but there might be injuries, we might have to sell players - I hope not as many as in the previous two windows. If you have to sell key players it is not easy. Look at how many goals have left the club in the last two windows. “It is tricky. I don’t think it is easy. I know this, so does Stuart (Webber) and the board. When you don’t have the best solutions then you must be smarter, more creative and quicker in the choices of recruitment that you make.” Full article here - http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city/canaries-farke-on-goalscoring-issues-1-5419035
That just shows a weak ref if he lets that influence his decisions. Refs aren't using it properly, because some of them are asking for every little thing to been double checked. They need to ref the game as they normally would 80% of the game. Only use VAR in clear and important errors.
So, some interesting results today WetSham are shipping goals and Moyes is struggling. Swansea zoom up to 13th. Pardew's P45 will surely 'be in the post' on Monday. Boro's stay in the play-off places was short lived and a really emphatic win by the Robins. Our loanee equalised for Cambridge
One of my best mates is a Wet Sham fan. I sent him this email last week after they got stuffed by Liverpoo. To re-send or not re-send, that is the question. (The reply involved several very rude words - as expected )
In fairness, DF stressed that he wanted to bring attacking players in and he did do that with Edwards, Hernandez, Srbeny and Leitner, plus McLean for next season. At the same time, Pritchard, Jerome, Naismith, and Wildschut were sold or went out on loan. The restructuring takes a toll on the short term, but hopefully builds a younger, hungrier squad for the future over several years. The business done in January means less change will be needed in the summer so a much more settled squad will start off the new season.
So 'SAM' has predicted the positions at the end of season - I'd agree with West Brom and Wolves fans will take great pleasure from waving as they pass each other if they goo up. Not to sure re the other predictions.
He was brought in before Leitner arrived. That, as well as as the other factors already mentioned means he'll have to fight for a place.
Good grief, some people still wittering on about scraping into the play offs! Just face it, MFW, we've been far too inconsistent all season long to even deserve a pop at it this year. It's how much will we get for Maddison and how much of that will be available to DF that should be the subject of conjecture, this season is done and dusted. http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...-too-early-to-write-this-season-off-just-yet/
