Will Saturday's game be postponed - http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city/will-barnsley-canaries-be-on-oakwell-snow-1-5414520 ?? Seems unlikely, as Oakwell has undersoil heating, so no need for brasiers! as at Walsall a few seasons ago!!!! No NOT brassieres!!!
Yes, remember the days well, away games at Yeovil, Tranmere, Leyton Orient, etc. Masterfully manoeuvred away from by Lambert and co. But the fan base, home and away, hardly dropped in that time. Remarkable
Wow. Spurs score. Looked a fine goal. Goes to VAR. They disallowed it!? I thought VAR only comes in when it is clear and obvious faults? Even in the slow motion replay, if anything, the Rochdale player fouls the Spurs player. Even the Rochdale players seem in shock. This VAR is starting to show consistent signs of being a mess. They said "those lines weren't the lines we used to judge" Then why release the bad ones to the public. They will only interfere if its an obvious mistake. Well, again, this wasn't at all. It was a goal. In Germany it seems to be going fine, We seem to be following Italy, who have been outraged by it, because the blatant errors have been regular. I'd say more that 1 major cock up already in this short spell, shows major errors in the system.
I didn't think that was a Pen either. Trippier Started to let himself be fouled outside the box. THEN! The ref disallows the goal, and books Son, because he stopped his run!? Ronaldo, Messi, Hazard. All do that. And their goals stand. Rochdale just scored. Unreal. Spurs should be 3 or 4-0 up. Because of the officials and VAR. it's 1-1! Mental first half.
Interesting FML, as I was really looking forward to its introduction, but from what I've seen and your comments, it's turning into a total farce. My understanding was that VAR would be used in goals, penalties and red cards only. Compare that to the TMO at Murrayfield on Saturday when an English player knocked on in the tackle and the decision took no more than a few seconds - WHY can't they get VAR to work seamlessly???? It's almost as though they want it to fail.
That 1st half was a total farce! Spurs should be at least 3-1 up, but it's 1-1. The ref even went to VAR about a yellow card towards the end of the half! An ex-Ref said, VAR will be amazing, but you need good refs. Good refs, ref. If they make an error, VAR will buzz him. If he is a sh*t ref, it's a disaster. He's asking for VAR on every decision. Makes a lot of sense, and this ref is definitely one of the sh*t ones. And VAR is failing. Maybe through the amount of times, and how often the ref is wanting them to chip in. From what I hear, the ref is suppose to Ref. If VAR buzzes him, he can change his decision. That is not how it is working.
Some valid points about lack of service from wide to Oliveira (and though not mentioned by Iwan, the same for Jerome before him) this season. http://www.eveningnews24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city/iwan-roberts-ncfc-column-1-5415375
Well FML - doesn't look like we'll be seeing VAR used in the PL next season and after some of the farcical decisions in recent FA Cup games, I can't say I'm surprised. #shame #makeyourmindup Premier League clubs not expected to approve VAR for next season - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43256551
So Leeds losing 3-0 at Boro - could they be making a late dash for a play-off place??? Edit - Just seen that they've dislodged the Blades.
This would be the one and only time I went to Oakwell. 2002. And I always rated David Nielsen, who scored right in front of us https://www.11v11.com/matches/barnsley-v-norwich-city-13-april-2002-12146/
What we need is to retrain egg-chasing referees on the laws of association football. They would use VAR correctly and stop players crowding round the referee at a stroke
