Bathams isn’t Guinness. It’s a perfectly balanced amber ale. Not a fan of the black stuff. Fills me up too much. Never been able to drink more than 2 pints of the stuff.
Anyone got a bright ideas for what the **** I can make for dinner.. Have frozen chicken breasts Frozen chicken thighs, skin on. Prawns Two sea bass fillets Potatoes Kale Broccoli Cumberland sausages. And a cupboard full of most herbs and spices. Severely lacking in inspiration of what to cook. Thought I had some haggis but it’s been thrown away. @gingerninja
I’m a real fussy twat with my ale. Don’t like anything too hoppy, zesty, floury. Those three things are the antithesis of good beer. My local sells bathams and has wye valley beers too. Then he gets a guest ale. We have had enville ale. Which was good. I tend not to like small brewery ales. As they are always hoppy. Just like a balanced beer. I only ever drink lager after a round of golf. If you ever come to the Birmingham area google Bathams pubs. There’s a few of them in the Black Country and a couple in brum. Then a few in villages around hagley. Or if you find yourself in Worcester Hereford area seek out wye valley ales. Butty Bach is my favourite. They a pale ale which is very popular.
Butty Bach is superb, fair play. The hoppy IPS's make my teeth feel like they'll stick together if a have too many. One or two, fine. More than that, forget it. Of the new craft lagers on draught Sam Adams Boston lager is excellent and the Guiness hop house 13 is good stuff also. Normal 'British' lager sold in our pubs is ****ing pish.
