I mean in terms of results we have not improved and that is what counts. Not looking like you might win some games soon. Edit: Yes we have won our cup matches but this doesn’t count towards league form. Hence not including it in this thread; run in, relegation edition.
I’ve been so busy this week that I’ve only just seen the kicking! Fair point though! Match threads are for Wednesdays. Tuesday at earliest.
We've been pretty **** all season, since January we have been the same level of **** but have possibly looked more likely to be less ****. Whether or not we can be less **** we will find out soon enough, One things for sure if we stay at this level of **** then we are going down the toilet with the rest of the ****.
Did you come to that conclusion when watching the home game v Liverpool on a TV with friends in China?
Interesting that most of the Guardian sports columnists have us to go down in a piece on the relegation run in. I have little time for the Guardian but they may be right for once.
Just read the article. It's interesting because, in the main, the media and the bookies still think we'll be OK. But yes, clearly there's a lot of feeling amongst those Guardian writers that we're for the cut. And for completely understandable reasons. If things go against us in 48 hours time though, it won't just be the Guardian.
Interesting from the Beeb... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43202293 Jonathan Pearce reckons we will go down, phew that's a relief!...
He says we will go down if we lose our next 4 games, to be honest if we lose our next 4 i think all of us will have us as relegated.
And if we finish the season with less points than at least 17 teams above us, we will definitely go down
I also noted that Everton, Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City are pretty much playing all the teams currently from 12th to 19th That gives them quite an effect on the bottom of the table and interesting given that the former 3 are really patchy and the latter are nigh-on unbeatable but as the league is won may concentrate on Europe. OK their reserves could win the league anyway but if some of the strugglers start kicking them about then who knows?
I'll do an update after this weekend's matches are over. Not to spoil it, but: we're in a spot of trouble.
No , he said if we lose our next 4 away games . BBC commentator Jonathan Pearce: "If they lose all four of their coming away matches at Newcastle, West Ham, Arsenal and Leicester, they'll go down. They might have to hope Manchester City have the Champions League final in mind when it comes to the last game at St Mary's. There aren't enough goals in the side."
