Ah, the office. They know where that is. It’s the departments they are overseeing they struggle to find, which is why some of them underperform leading to productivity problems. They are then too weak and feeble to use the proper procedures to address matters, which gives those who are underperforming a free ride.
Radio 4 listeners of a certain age will be delighted that a brand new series of The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy starts next Thursday at 6:30 pm, to mark 40 years since the first series. Many of the original cast appear, and highlights include Arthur and Ford visiting a small Irish planet called Nano, where they meet a character called Hillman Hunter, played by Ed Byrne. Can’t wait! It took me 2 and half hours to drive the 1.3miles from the National Oceanography Centre in Dock Gate 4 to Odeon where I ditched my car and walked the remaining 3 or so miles home. Don't know when I'm going to be able to retrieve it! Helped push several cars that were struggling up hills on the walking phase of my journey home from work. Now sat at home in front of the fire. My housemate is still stuck out there somewhere!

I have also have just joined the I love snow days club .....no work until Monday on late shifts now .
I now know what a condensate pipe is and the effects of it freezing. No heating today of all days. Wouldn't have happened with an old-school 'inefficient' boiler.
Modern boilers can do half a dozen things that you will never need or use, but can be difficult to fix and quickly become uneconomical to repair....whereas a few years back in my old house I had an elderly Potterton boiler that you could fix with a bit of wire and a prayer on the rare occasions that it did break down. And it had a timer that you could set and adjust by turning a clock face and not by pressing and holding buttons. And I never had to inform my Potterton what day and month it was....it was none of its business. In my present house I have another nice old water heater that has 3 buttons....none of which I've had to touch since I moved in. I dread the day that it breaks and has to be replaced by an 'improvement.' Now look what you've done....set me off

Many parts of the UK got significantly more snow in a day than we got in the entirety of February. So congrats on experiencing a proper Canadian snow storm while I wander around in a jumper. This winter is odd.
No, that's fine, because once set up it is simple....until it goes wrong It's the over-complication of systems that work perfectly well that get my goat. Especially as this often seems to mean early obsolescence.
Damn....shouldn't have been a wuss yesterday. Should have braved the cold and snow and gone to the shops yesterday....probably safer than today which looks like it will be frozen under foot. I live on a hill, so driving or walking is problematic with ice. Got food so won't starve, but milk is low. Tea, tea....my kingdom for a cuppa.
