Nothing like a good conspiracy - how about a nice Russian one for our friends on the Right? By the way you really must get out more. Spending all your time researching the internet can't be good for you. Doesn't it make you go blind? Having seen the last few offerings suddenly I feel a warm glow to all things antipodean and linked to Barnsley.
Of the three guys that tackled the terrorist on the French train, two were US servicemen, and clearly knew how to handle themselves. On the other hand, Trump watched John Wayne films as a kid and is an egotist. If he had been a war hero, or even, had answered his country's call to arms and not dodged his draft, I'd take his claim more seriously. Actually, I'm not one of the Trump-knockers. He says some ridiculous stuff at times (his unarmed storming of the Florida school being the latest), but I respect the fact that he talks his country up. This compares well against the defeatists and apologists that we have in this country, mostly in opposition.
Just because you know how to handle yourself doesn't mean you put you're self in harms way. The numerous police officers outside the school not only knew how to handle themselves but were armed yet the stayed outside. You never know how people react until they are put in a position to do something.
Some bloke crazy with a gun with nothing left to lose I would run as would 99% of people automatically. If however I had a gun I would go for it no doubt in my mind because if I had a gun I would therefore know how to use it. Armed police officers are trained to protect so that really surprised me
The Irish problem T May says no what a complete fool she is She has no bargaining power at all They don’t even have an alternative after all this time! Hopefully this is the brick that tumbles the whole idea of Brexit John Major seems to think it’s disaster for business all round
Sure, you have professionals like servicemen and police who have never been tested. Some will react better than others when big questions are asked. But you're asking me to believe that an overweight 71 year old draft dodger who's never seen any kind of action in military or civil forces will run unarmed into a school building (where he has no children) to tackle a terrorist who's armed with something like a machine gun. I don't believe Trump's claim. He likes to play the part of a hero, but his instinct for self-preservation, shown constantly in business and politics, is far too great for him to risk his life in a senseless act of heroism.
You may have no idea, but based on what I know of his life and character (it's all pretty well documented), I have a very good idea. He's much more likely to order one of his employees to go in!
Perhaps things are starting to change. Apart from many company's dropping doing bossiness with the NRA this morning 'Dicks" Sporting Goods, the largest seller of firearms in the US announced they will stop selling semi-automatic rifles completely and will not sell guns to anyone under the age of 21. Good news.
May be he doesn't. However if you're going to give yourself that sort of publicity aren't the readers entitled to question the image you've given yourself? None of us are portraying ourselves as being in some way better than him or that we would react differently to him. The point simply is that we don't believe him. Do you?
