With his hands firmly tied behind his back I don’t think it’s possible to have done any better other than recall loans which again he was not allowed

Rodwell has really ****ed us up

Yeah these are my sentiments too. I bet that if you could see the pool of players available to us considering our budget you'd say that we did well. Shame that we didn't get Walters, which looked like a good deal, but he got crocked so what can you do.

I think we did the right thing in signing young British talent. How good they are I'm not sure, some look alright, but we didn't really have the luxury of choice.

    Come on mate.
If I send you to Asda with pennies, are you going to come back with fillet steak, smoked salmon, champagne, and a fine after-dinner liqueur?

Your expectations have to be rational in this game

He might as well have been given magic beans! Could have played one of them in goal and it would have been an improvement, at least!

Blaming Coleman for Sunderland's plight is like blaming the gritters for the weather.

They'll be average at best. Not Coleman's fault either. We take what we can in our position. It's been hard enough just getting the numbers in never mind quality

I think he' doing incredibly well to integrate promising youth players into a team that's utterly rotten.

He had no money to spend so judging the transfer window sounds like something I have no interest in.

Coleman isn't a saint or a messiah. He's doing what he can and I'd rather give him some time before jumping on his back.

Yeah probably. Ejarja is tipped to have a very bright future though so fingers crossed. Hes one of Liverpools top prospects, hes being touted as the future England Paul Pogba.

Aye but he's been coming through in positive environments. He's come here into a world of pure rot. We can't expect any of these kids to step up and be leaders. They don't have the experience. Those who do are part of the rot.

I don't know what to make of this new goalie. Twice he's been in the standard position - middle of the goal, knees bent and on the balls of his feet, so that places him 10' from either post. Now, two times our opponents have scored from beyond the 18 yard line, one of those from behind the 'D,' with not vey special low balls about 2' inside our left post. Shouldn't a professional goalie be able to move 8' before the ball travels 60' ?

Not too impressed with him so far, pity Max wasn't given a shot. It might have saved us having three experienced, third rate keepers on the payroll.

I would be interested to know your opinion since you've been well and truly hung out on this thread. You've gone awfully quiet without, at any point, giving your opinion!

How exactly could he have done any better with the money he had to spend?

Sorry but you're blaming Coleman for Lee Camp not being the best keeper (still the best of the 3 mind)? Camp was excellent at Cardiff - Warnock said as much and also said that he'd have been straight back in if not for the form of the guy who replaced him through injury

FWIW I've really only seen one error from Camp and that was the give away of the penalty (which I still think the forward made the most of BTW)

So Lee Camp was the best option available ?
