I always think that people who totally dismiss the idea of a God/Afterlife are just as stupid as the people who wholeheartedly believe in one. The last time I checked the number of people who have come back and told us what happens when you die still stands at 0. It's fun to speculate on things like this, but to base your life around it is madness and some of the stuff the bible teaches baffles me.

I agree with Dutch on the war front. People like to portray religion as the root of all evil because it's the cool thing to do. In reality most wars come down to 2 things: Money and ultimately power.

Good thinking. Are you expecting him to support your claim that religion causes most wars or do you reckon he'll just stick with the simple fact and better PR that they don't?

When you read some of what the Priests are accused of, it's a wonder so few are from Norfolk.

the reason religion has worked so well for so long is that it is a fantastic way to control , stimulate and dare i say educate an ever increasing population.
Societies wouldnt exist if it wasnt for religion being created in the distant past to bond and create peoples together.

Im defo a non believer , but i strongly believe that religion had its place in the past and can fulfil something for many people today .

At least there are records that Buddha actually did exist and a lot of the stuff they preach actually makes sense.
