Given that most of the travelling for Elite Ice Hockey League games is probably by plane, could there be the situation at the weekend where ice hockey games are called off due to bad weather? The Challenge Cup Final is on Sunday, when the Cardiff Devils take on the Belfast Giants at the IAW. Despite what the Jersey Met Office said yesterday, the steps of closing the schools, cancelling all outpatient appointments and patient transport services have already been taken for tomorrow.
Good morning from a cold island. We've had the overnight snow, but where I live near the harbour, it's only a light covering and it has stopped - it's probably worse in the country parishes. I don't know if jerzeypie was on an early shift today - if he is, he had to drive from one side of the island to the other to start at 6.
Well I'm at a Liverpool Airport hotel hoping for an 11:25 to Madrid. Outside the hotel they are giving a windchill of -13. First breakfast and then I'll see if it is possible to wear 6 pairs of socks at the same time Keep warm you 'orns and our Canary
Morning all, we had a fair bit of snow last night, and I had a very steady drive up and down the hills as I came back from my granddaughters birthday tea. We now have blue sky and a very rapid thaw, with a temperature of 15°C forecast for this afternoon. Language learning at an early age is so much easier than when you become older. My eldest granddaughter is one of the brightest in her year at school along with the other English children, and maybe it is because they have to concentrate more doing their lessons in a second language. My son-in-law grew up in Wales where they used both English and Welsh, and he has had to learn both German and French because of his work. Something that I read suggests that if you start early enough you use different sides of your brain for each language. At my age I sometimes wonder which bits of mine have gone into hibernation.
My brother was supposed to be flying to Nice yesterday but Nice airport is closed due to snow. They have nothing to clear snow off planes apparently. No flights till Saturday so they have cancelled their break
We have our grandson with us for 9 nights () whilst their parents are on their honeymoon. Needless to say we walked him through heavy snowfall this morning to nursery.......
Morning, Dave; morning, all. Just woke up at Dave o’clock and thought I’d tune in. You didn’t disappoint - posting “a moment ago”!
It's laying about 8 to 12 inches deep atm, more to come a bit later then turning to rain over the weekend!
Wow. I’ll have to call my father-in-law who lives in Rhyl. He always claims it’s impossible for snow to settle there. Will you get a late push in for the play-offs (tonight’s game sucks a few points out of that area of the table). What is it - twelve ish games left? That’s a lot of available points.
