How many players have a medical & then go away & think about it? If he's not committed to the move then tell him to sod off!
Guys, its a huge decision. His heart is with Newcastle and thats 100% understandable. If you think about it Newcastle have let several players go and their club has had huge probs at board/owner level as well, and yet he still wants to stay there. Thats great committment in my book. Fair play to him. Its not an insult to our club at all, its just that he loves the club that he is with
Fair enough, then don't come down for a medical in the vain hope that it'll spur your previous club into offering you an improved contract? If he doesn't want to leave Newcastle, he doesn't have to right now, he has a year left there. Whole thing smells bad to me.
All comes down to whether he has the cojones - the choice is to stay at a 'big' club with a hopelessly out of depth owner who sells their best players, or to join a 'small' club with dynamic management team and a vision to build something for the future. If JB hasn't got the appetite for this sort of challenge and to be in at the centre of something 'big' (no guarantees obv) then he's simply not the man for us (or the man Colin thought he might be). Pretty sure TF would have laid out the roadmap and the finances - sometimes it just needs a bit of imagination, maybe JB just isn't up for it. It's important to remember, that if you do what you always do - you'll get what you always get. Sometimes, to change things and move forwards, it means doing something that appears intitially to be a step backwards.
Someone just posted on twitter they bumped into him in a bar and he said he was signing for QPR tomorrow. That's sealed it for me. 100% certainty.
