Knew this thread was not going to be a belter but the last few pages with Castro hatem and Arnold...Kinell. Painful
Confirmed ! The presenter on BBC Breakfast has just spent 5 minutes showing the nation how to walk like a penguin apparently it's safer in icy conditions. FFS.
Although tbf, I cleared my car an hour ago and just had to do it again. It is ****ting it down a bit now.
Just took me an hour to do my normal 15 minute commute and I really don't get why , all main roads are normal , people just didn't seem to be moving!
Same here. The roads are ****ing clear, but because they can see snow on the paths they **** themselves. I walked out, saw traffic wasn’t moving, then came back in. **** it.
The BBC have invested a lot in this 'freak weather event' which is why they are now ramming it down your throat... Yesterday, I noticed when a reporter said its a light shower, the anchor then retorted , yes but it will get worse, as if it was some massive national crisis.
Where I am has had no gritters seemingly within miles of it, and I'm fine. Everyone else on the roads however... It's a bit of snow and wind ffs. Why do people always act like the world is ending?
Part of the problem is perhaps.... they learn to drive in summer, light nights, dry roads in their trainers or such. As soon as the bad weather comes its panic as they're never taught how to drive in it... simple solution, if you're not capable get off the road!! . I passed someone yesterday, looked like the Michelin Man, he had that many layers on in the car and gloves FFS. Turn the ****ing heater on!!!... it was 2 degrees outside too... This weekend could be bad for those in the south mind you, this weather front from Portugal cupid bring London to a complete standstill....
Drove up from the Midlands for the game and the A15 up from Lincoln was treacherous. Same coming back but only light traffic and just one car in a ditch near Scampton. My car is rear wheel drive and on low profile tyres, so had to take it a bit steady, but not as steady as some. 20 odd years ago I worked in real winter conditions and drove a car with winter tyres; the difference is amazing. If I could get some that fit I would be tempted to get some Michelin Cross Climates here (it would help if we had more than a week's snow every year).
My son in law works in Castleford, it just took him an hour and a half to get there from Brough, No.1 daughter works in Leeds and hasn’t gone in. I decided to avoid this week and jet off to the sun, it’s not quite planned out...
That's the crux of the problem for me. I wouldn't want a Scandinavian style back up plan by my local council, it'd cost a fortune for the sake of no more than 5 days. Same with winter tyres. It's not essential I am mobile on the roads 24/7. Why do people always think that whatever they do is essential and it's critical they have to go out? It's dangerous around Peterborough and towards where we are on the edge of Lincolnshire. Add in comedy dykes alongside the road, and you have to ask, why the **** are people out today? Stay the **** at home you nobbers.
god help this country and 90% of the population of we did actually get bad winter weather!! It's just any excuse to cancel trains, close school etc.... Parents are fined if they take kids out of school during term time because it has such a negative effect on the kids education, I bet these schools that have used the mm of snow to close won't be offering these days back during the next half term so the kids education doesn't suffer! Yet again other countries must just be pointing and laughing!
Well just to cheer you up. Seems Evans is favourite to be next Posh manager. If you wanna stop over, we can go to a game and hurl abuse at the ****er for 90 mins at their next home game if he gets it.
1. It's not any excuse. 2. Other countries, even the ones people like you claim just carry on as normal are not laughing, they experience the same problems. 3. Those same countries do not act like ****ers, in general, and think they can carry on as if it's summer. 4. 1 or 2 days of not writing your car off, killing someone or hurting yourself is perfectly sensible.
Evans resigned as manager of Mansfield, looks set for the Posh hot-seat!!! Hope its been reinforced to accommodate the lard arse.
I have a small amount of affection for them, and their owner is, generally, ****ing spot on. If he appoints that twat, I'll be done with them. Unless Lambo fancies an angry pie throwing 90 mins, then I'm up for that.
