Contrary to what the BBC and Mail headlines state, Labour have not hired Bergdorf as their LGBT Advisor. What has happened, as outlined by The Independent, is that shadow equalities minister Dawn Butler has appointed Bergdorf to an unpaid role on an LGBT advisory panel that is not affiliated with Labour. Of course questions need to be asked about why Butler thought it was a good idea to appoint Bergdorf to this advisory panel due given Bergdorf's media profile consists of a long line of statements and comments that can be summed up by the following gif... please log in to view this image ...but it also needs pointing out that anyone saying that Corbyn appointed Bergdorf as LGBT Advisor is at best misinformed, at worst deliberately spreading misinformation. Says a lot that the Mail and BBC have been doing the latter.
Indeed. Because nothing says "not affiliated with Labour" more than appointed by Labour MP who is party prime on equalities,
Paid or unpaid, what's the difference? She's advising a Labour party minister and no doubt, will shape/influence policy. Great idea!
Several other people on the panel will be advising a shadow minister, not just Bergdorf. The real question is how long will it be before the remainder of the panel simply ignore Bergdorf because they can't be bothered to listen to the latest string of attention-seeking comments clearly designed to be offensive that do a ****load of harm and not one iota of good? I'm guessing within fifteen minutes of their first meeting. All of this falls under the long-standing issue of advisory boards always seeming to have one person in the public board added to them to make them seem important, when doing so usually has the opposite effect as it always draws attention away from the board and onto one member who may as well wear a mascot costume given the actual work will be done by the other board members.
I don't think anyone does, considering the trans community doesn't want anything to do with Bergdorf because they can see the obvious problems that come from an attention-seeking headcase who thinks being deliberately provocative for the sake of playing the victim card if anyone dares call them out for their bullshit being seen as a figurehead of the community.
This may be a bit out there, but was "Ms" Bergdorf in "her" previous "life" by any chance called Sol Campbell ??
BBC’s Carol Kirkwood takes time out from talking about the Beast from the East to helpfully show the general forecast for the UK post-Brexit! (A large distorted question mark) And on the subject of the weather, how is it this country can still not cope with a couple of inches of snow, even with more than a weeks notice of impending doom!!
That would require a degree of competence. If faced with the inch of snow on the ground in Croydon, the average Scot would shrug and get on with it - yet that's more than enough to bring Surrey, Berkshire and Hampshire to a grinding halt and reduce the locals to cannibalism within three days. It's worth pointing out that when we had about a foot of snow on the ground five years ago you could tell which streets Croydon council deemed worth clearing and which they didn't think was worth it. It was obvious that mine was the latter, because it took one of my neighbours hiring a JCB before the roads near my house were cleared - yet funnily enough the posh area around Purley, where Bernard Ingham happens to live, were so clear you wouldn't know it had snowed...
Nothing ever changes does it? But to be fair,I do remember 1963.I used to commute every day from Tottenham to Hackney Wick Stadium through ice, snow and freezing cold.Always got there on time......no idea how I did it!.....and it was, trolleybus, trolleybus and then single decker bus.
