Was on for a very large bet at odds on tomorrow - Walk In The Sun. Would have been happy with 9/4 on but 5/1 on is just not on .
I don't think this will be very popular amongst some (many?) but I've been thinking about relegations and promotions. At present, relegations can occur at any time, with betting suspended until the month next following the available balance reaching zero. I've been thinking , until now, that, maybe, promotions might take place once a year. My thoughts now are as follows: 1. Everyone, including the very best professional gamblers, have losing runs 2. At present, the only way is down 3. The current rules favour those (myself included) who just happened to start off on a winning streak 4. A year is far too long to operate a promotion process in a competition 5. It is a fun game and therefore there should be more incentives to make it more fun So I'm thinking that at the end of each month there should be an opportunity for promotion along the following lines: 1. Promotions will occur only at the end of each month, following completion of racing on the last day of the month 2. To get a promotion one must, at that stage, be able to repay £1,000 and remain in profit 3. Promotion can only be to the next highest League, regardless of the amount of profit 4. There will be just 4 tiers, Premier League, Championship, League 1 and League 2. Relegation from League 2 will result in elimination from the competition I was also thinking of a maximum stake rule (based on % of available balance) but it will not be possible to provide available balances after each race and it would be too onerous for everyone to keep track of their own balances. A fixed maximum stake could not be fairly applied. Please don't comment on this thread; a poll will go up shortly. This rule change will not go ahead if there are at least 8 "No" votes (approx. 25%) and the no votes exceed the total of "Yes" votes and "Don't mind " votes. Abstainers will not be counted as "Don't mind" votes
