I'm pro VAR. I'm made that clear. But never should that goal have been overturned. Absolutely no way is that a clear and obvious error. Total shambles.
Can BT not employ some commentators who know that you can no longer stop your run up? I don't care what players did 20 years ago.
I'm not blaming the existence of the technology for the first decision. I'm blaming the TV referee who decided that the 'foul' by Lorente was a clear and obvious error - when it absolutely was not. Back to my regular point about the technology in cricket not working when the third umpire was able to re-umpire the game. That for me was the referee re-refereeing the game how he saw fit. You have to stick with the original decision unless there is evidence staring everyone in the face that the decision is wrong. And you have to put it on the big screens!
It simply can't be taking that long, it's ludicrous. I hate the idea of reviewing every single goal too, it will take the emotion out of the game. Interested to see how much time is added on here. It should only be a blatant error that's overturned, if it's taking that long, it's not obvious. If VAR is the future then I'm sad to say my future is non league.
Correct me if I'm wrong please ... but... The foul for the penalty happend outside the box so even with advantage how is that a penalty? And some refs don't even allow advantage at times. Ronaldo does that stutter run up every penalty and it's never disallowed and has done for years as have so many other players.
Agree that it was a free kick not a pen but that wasn't a stutter but a definite stop. I ****ing hate stuttering run ups anyway. Post!
