Like it or not, it’s not currently a country, waving national flags that are already recognised is non political as they are already...recognised. Therefore the symbol, by nature, is entirely political.
Exactly...a national flag represents a country. If Catalan was independent and had a recognised flag it would be okay too. However, the desire for Catalan independence is a political cause....exactly what is forbidden by the rules. If you allow one, you open the door to them all. Can just imagine the trouble that could foment....especially in matches between various countries once Russian satellites. Of course like most people I thought it was for a cancer charity of some sort.
He is wearing it because of the incarceration of some members of the pro-independent Catalan parties, and will do so until they are released. Barca fans fly the Catalan flag and are not penalised. It is the one with the red and yellow bands without the blue triangle. What gets them in trouble is the political flag with the blue triangle? So when Celtic fans fly the Irish tricolor, is it political? If I was to turn up at St Mary´s with an EU flag with SFC stitched on it, is it political?
Just listening to Nigel....talking about taking his time out of the game to reflect and learn things. It must be a happy thing to be like Nigel. Said he watched a lot of EPL games....and studied the tactics, but realised it was boring.
I said against Wigan that I didn't understand Pep bringing off Silva, rather than Fernandinho, when he brought KDB on. Here, it was Fernandinho who made way (albeit because of injury), and in the 15 mins since, they've gone from 1-0 to 3-0. I'm not saying it's the all about that change, but City are so good that against most teams they just don't need Fernandinho and Gundogan.
In other news, my son`s pal from school scored Blackpool`s second goal against the Skates on Saturday. Good lad !
There is something very, very wrong with that. I would be looking for some suspicious betting activity.
Only just realised there's an FA cup replay on the telebox. Swansea vs Sheffield Wednesday about to kick off
